We have a dozen or so staff - theres normally someone around during the day to keep an eye on things.. Admins have red statuses, mods have blue

Its all very democratic here, all the staff chip in to help keep things under some sort of control :)

OK, just added Gibertini feedhorn to my 1.25M Gibertini dish.... a significant improvement...... but not good enough lose Ch4HD at 17.00 CH5 SD at 18.00
Both were lockable this morning (7.00), the first time for me on CH4HD!
2F PE is fine, all day.
Amazed at the variance of the 2F UK spot beam eg 10994 not lockable but signal, 11023H dead as a dodo, 10964H OK for dish size.

So the million dollar question is what size dish do I need to install to be able to pick up until late evening!?
I know Steve in Munich has a 1.5M but is that going to be good enough with 2F UK beam? When I moved from Munich, my then 1M dish improved signal/quality, but that was before the 2F spot beam!
Any ideas or advice?

Just seen your other post ....Tony....your signal strength and Q on 2F europe is low....??...never mind your 2F uk Q.....is your dish set up properly...?,....you should have about 90-100% Q on 2F Europe beam......maybe your multiswitch has a high through loss....As a test Try connecting directly to the sat box...an see if you get a big inprovement .....

All 2F uk ..are at 100% Q here....at the mo....(1 pm)

Don't forget it's a 1.25M dish! What 2F UK channels are you looking at?

They specifically lined up the new LNB/feedhorn on the 2F frequencies yesterday, and channels like CH4HD and BT Sports HD are now being picked up - which they weren't before.
Also my quality of signal is significantly up on 1N channels., I am seeing levels at 85 -> 90+, which I have never seen before, even when I had my 1M dish on the balcony of my apartment in Munich (I had the top flat), and I was able to align very easily.
As I wasn't up on the roof, I can only look at the results, which I can only say are much better.

The multiswitch is possible........ I will try a new box from Amazon as this is over 4 years old. Cable runs are minimal, although all over the house.

With my linux receivers I can pretty well see exactly what is happening compared to the Sky box which is just a bar chart!

Hi Tony......on your sky box you should easy have 100% Q..on 1N..!..?...here in Munich we get 100%q on. 100cm dish...!!.....did you have the same Multiswitch in Munich..?....as for BT sports HD ..that is on 2F Europe beam......so that also should be no prob....!.....I've got a opticum multiswitch that seems ok ...only 65 euro from amazon De...maybe worth a try.......I still think your signal reports are too low......even for a 125 Gibby .....Ps I was looking at the usual ch5,4HDand red button HD...they was at 100%q ...but have now dropped to 70% Q...(Humax)........

I' m thinking..... Maybe the German installers have got the skew wrong...for 28.2 the LNb needs to be at about the 7oclock position .....not the 5 o'clock position needed for German sat At 19.2..,Maybe you can have a look ...or maybe post a pic...?

Skew looks OK.... And should be as they were setting up across 4 specific 2F frequencies (VH, VL, HH, HL) and a meter where you can plug in the transponder and/or frequency (although not being on the ladder!,,).... But I will have a closer comparison over the weekend when I go up on the roof! I assume you mean 7 when facing the dish?
Tonight ch4HD died at about 8pm, ch5SD at about 8.30 pm.
Interesting as the signal quality drops off fast, whilst the signal level stays solid.
Over the weekend will try new kathrein multiswitch and see what happens.

Although I am North and slightly West of you, I think that we are close to one of these signal drop off points for the spot beam lobes

Yes 7oclock ..as you look at the dish..maybe a bit less .....we are close to the edge....but your 1N and 2F Q..daytime ...is less than I would expect .....hope the new multiswitch does the trick......

Yep, you are correct, NO skew... from the ground it's difficult to see.
Also round here 19.2, LNB's are not skewed, so probably not used to doing it. I never checked when they set up the new 1.25M dish, the 1M, I set up with my brother in law.

OK, just added Gibertini feedhorn to my 1.25M Gibertini dish.... a significant improvement......

Sorry for the little off topic, but what is this feedhorn for (and where did you get it)? Is it made for the 125 offset Gibertini? I had no idea that there was such a thing.

Hi....... strs 65...........all LNBs have a feed horn...The usual 40mm ones have a feedhorn built in behind the plastic cap on the front of the LNB..........The feedhorns we are talking about are C120 Flange Feedhorns....Usually used on bigger dishes..120cm..And upwards.........The ones I know are made by Raven/Andrews , Gibertini, And Invacom.......The Gibby Feedhorn is best to get if you have a Gibby Dish.......As the Raven Feedhorn is great ...but needs mods ..to make it fit on a Gibby dish...!!........Also A C120 flange LNB is also needed with a C120 flange Feedhorn...Invacom & Inverto do these types of LNBs

By the way Steve, thanks for pushing me into checking the skew - I just hope it makes a big difference.
Now if you ever think of replacing your Sky box(es) with a linux receiver, perhaps I can repay the assistance.

The Gibertini feedhorn is for both 125 and 150 Gibertini dishes.
