Rodssiya 24 very strange this year - the usual anthem playout was intercut with Putin standing there looking very important. Not seen that done before, usually its the Kremlin views for 5 minutes....

Perhaps Poccnr 24 has rediscovered irony?

It does sound a bit like God Save the Tsar in parts.

Rubbish Today also played the full anthem with a few shots of the Dear Leader. They finally went to fireworks after the anthem ended only to have fireworks end in around a minute. Since they are so obsessed with protocol(why couldn't they let anthem play over a live image?), I shall forget they are my neighbors(geographically) and will watch Dubai next year.

Needless to say, fireworks broke out also in parts of Estonia, hearing some booms here in SE Estonia as well.

And BTW, an older family member who lived in USSR and happened to step by during the anthem actually noticed that at quite a bit of the lyrics in the current anthem were also present in the Soviet version.

BTW, the text on Dubai TV in place of countdown clock should be Ahlan 2014 - Welcome 2014.

Al-Sharqiya TV is live from Baghdad.

Also, it turns out the record breaking fireworks part was not at the TOTH, but a little ago due to weather, see tweets at https://twitter.com/AhlanLive . Caught part of it by chance when tuned to Dubai TV.

Fireworks on Al-Sharqiya. They rang in the new year over a minute early!

Pretty impressed with Iraqi TV this year, in particular Al-Sharqiya. Although a little bizarre to hear Christmas songs being played(heard Jingle Bells and Last Christmas at least)

Just heard ABBA's Happy New Year on AlBaghdadia. Iraqiya seems to be having regular news.

Belarus had an interesting video this time.

It looked touristy like they are planning to enter the real world soon and get real tourists.

Although it might just be feel good stuff aimed at their nation.

Must be locked to Finnish IP's - its not working here.

oh, they must have messed up something, as they announced on air that "this broadcast will be streamed all over the world online..."
