I think it will change as it was more focused on the UK when it was at 28.2E. I think/hope the beams will be shifted eastwards and probably south to include the Canary Islands.

ses waiting turn off astra 1n and change capacity to astra 2e
to east europe ?

I meant when 1N arrives at 19.2E it will be more focused on mainland Europe rather than the UK.

SES already updated 1N's data. There is only one PE beam, covering almost all Europe...

Astra 1N

Home to one of the fastest growing satellite audiences in Europe, this orbital location of 19.2° East is ideal for direct-to-home TV services in Europe. Our satellites provide capacity mainly for the transmission of broadcast SD, HD and 3D TV channels and broadband multimedia services to consumer audiences to Europe.

So I guess there shouldn't be any worries any more about the spot beam, covering just Spain, or Poland, or whatever...

It seems Spot beam has been annihilated in the process. Which actually is a very good thing... :-lol:D

Can't tell. 1M wide is rather an exception of SES's covering policies, than the rule...

Well they didnt publish the Poland beam until they switched it on ;)

Seems the whole satellite is shifted down to the south compared to the older PE beam. So also the former UK beam is shifted down south to ..... Iberia

Looking at the initial spot footprint for 1N, it looks to me that it was originally designed for the Iberian peninsula with a deliberate side beam for the Canaries.

I just wonder what will happen when 1N comes into service at 19E and what it will take over. Astra 2C maybe?

Curious about 2C only on a personal level as it's a bit weaker where I live compared to the rest of the fleet at 19E, SES suggest 75cm for 2C here compared to 50-60cm for the others.
