- its a 1.2 Tagra PF dish and pretty well made. ...........

Wow, remember seeing the name Tagra on dozens of dishes in the Alicante region in the late 80's......from memory all prime focus and with the name/logo printed in red....wish I had a foto!

Thanks for the picture.....still manage to see a good few around here.

Your comment is correct re: build......when we came to live here in 1992 big dishes were plenty and I was given a ¿2.0m? Irte made in Italy, with the mount it really was a heavy thing to move but again the quality build was impressive.

One elderly couple near here have not had there 2.0m connected for over 10 years and are using a 1.0m dish now to receive 19.2ºE but they are still refusing my offers to buy the 2.0m!!

These 2 news clippings from 1994 show happy and sad events for Tagra in the space of 6 months.

Think the company is a front for " Mas Enterprises , Catalonia, inc !" " Viva Catalonia "

Well, that would work in Gotham City!

PS, FTE´s are still made in Barcelona, and are very good dishes!

Fitted a Manhatten Plaza HD single receiver this afternoon. No problems on super strong signals like Sky News, but Channel 4, Film 4 etc suffering from distortion and pixelation. Meter showed no problems and the Humax receiver in the lounge also had no problems. Fitted attenuator on the feed to the Manhatten and problem solved. You would think that the Manhatten manufacturers would have noticed this problem and resolved it buy now, but I guess not!

On an 8 foot dish, that puts BBC/ITV in the 15dB range in your location. :-rofl2

Receivers should be able to resolve 5/6 signals down to at least 7.5dB without pixelisation. In Brian's area, at the moment, BBC/ITV are in the 9dB range on a 1.1m dish. So if he is seeing pixelisation it doesn't say a lot for the STB he has got connected.

Not my box! A friend wanted it for the bedroom. Meter was recording 9.8db on 10714 H and it only seemed to affect this frequency, no problem on 10773 H which is slightly weaker. Either way, fitting the attenuator cured the problem, so figure the receiver threshold is more sensitive at this frequency so dropping the signal power without affecting the sig/noise ratio stops an overload problem.

Brian, is it Quesada area. There's a rebroadcast mux somewhere round there that affects 10714. Normally can see it on the spectrum if you try an LNB without dish.

Yes it was in Quesada, next time I´m over there I will have a look for it, but as we know the spectrum on the S1 is limited. Would have thought the s/n would have shown a problem on the S1 if was was local interference. Also possible the S1 is " tighter " to 10714 H and the STB is sucking in more noise from closer side frequencies, which the other boxes, ie the Humax, are filtering out correctly

Some boxes are affected by adjacent frequencies and some not. Maybe that is what is happening here. And the meter can handle it. Anyway if were right on frequency the meter wouldn't receive C4 at all.

As I said, will have a look later today with the S1 to see if it can detect anything, if only I had an Emitor!

Had a quick check with the S1 at both the location I was at and the other side of the hill, but as suspected the S1 didn't really see anything specific.
Well, you get what you pay for!
