Does entering UK mean it doesn't need to see the Eurobird signal to set up? -Andrew

I think there's been some rejigging of ITV; I'm in Cyprus with the Humax HDR and the Oxford ITV doesn't give a good signal anymore. If I switch to non-Freesat, then London seems a better bet, but I do get ITV HD, but only via "non-Freesat".

We're returning to Cyprus on Sunday; I'm taking a Foxsat - delighted to be able to cancel sky! - I put in an Oxford postcode, so the ITV region is Central South, but I've replaced the BBC1 with BBC1 London. I'll report back on reception. -Andrew

Another thread on this board http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/freesat/131148-humax-freesat-postcode.html has looked at this. The problem is that the EPG and postcode database comes from Eurobird 1; unless you can receive from Eurobird 1 then the postcode can't be entered and the EPG won't...

We come over for few months at a time, so we can't really do that. I'll keep looking around the net for experiences of Freesat abroad.

Ah, I must have missed you're earlier posts. I don't think Humax make SD Freesat boxes. Judging by other reports, the Bush HD box is even more sensitive than the Humax, but the Bush may have the same problem with not being able to receive the Eurobird satellite. I'm coming back to Cyprus in...

It's a shame the EPG doesn't work - that presumably means that PVRs will not work - or be much more limited - in Cyprus. Interesting that reception is better than sky's though. How is HD reception? -Andrew

Further to the postcode problem; apart from that how well does it work? Does the EPG work in Cyprus and how good is reception? Do you get HD BBC ok? -Andrew
