i am most interested in this.
Paying for it is not a problem. getting ripped off to get a second digital box is what annoys me.
i think i will get me a little hobby kit from JayCar and have a play with smart cards just so that i can familiarize myself with the technology.
so what makes those cards so hard to copy?
Are they proprietary cards? or is there some kind of copy protection on them? i know the units over here do not call home unless you request a pay per view event.
i mean surely if the set top box can read the card someone would have reverse engineered...
I think I may have answered my own questions.
I managed to track down a lose lipped sky installer and i found out that the cards they are issues do not need to be paired with they set top boxes.
This leads me down a new path. I am assuming that if my i get my hands on one of those cards could...
