BBC red button streams back on

Hi For me it is the weakest UK spot since the days of 2D. The higher frequencies are generally the weakest, but when my dish is optimised for 28.5E, I still get 9-10dB on 12129V and 12305H. I've now re-aligned my dish for 28.2E, which increased 12422H from 2.6 to 3.6dB. The transponders in...

Astra 2G at 28.2E: General Discussion

Hi Checked the new 2E spot TP's an hour ago. They were fluctuating wildly, between 6.0 and 9.0 dB. At the same time 10803H, which is supposed to be on the same Sat and Beam only varied between 11.0 and 11.3dB. Curious! Also, the effect of recent changes means that at my location I now have...

Astra 2G at 28.2E: General Discussion

Hi LyngSat also has 12422H listed as being on Europe beam. I hardly think so. For me, it is the weakest transponder at 28E. I have 7,5 dB on that transponder, compared to roughly 12 dB on 2E UK beam. Regards, Bengt

Astra 2G at 28.2E: General Discussion

I assume that the reception we see in Scotland is because the 2E and 2F Euro beams are centered on the UK, whereas the 2G Euro beam is centered on Germany. I wonder why they didn't use the Spot beam, as they did with the 11307s and 11343s. Here in Sweden the 2G Euro beam is the strongest by...

    Eutelsat 28A switchoff looming

Hi 11464H, 11479V and 11508V are definitely not on the UK spot, judging by my signal here. Regards, Bengt

Astra 2G at 28.2E: General Discussion

Hi 11681V duplicated on 11973V 11585H duplicated on 11464H 11604V duplicated on 11479V 11662H duplicated on 11508V All on Europe Beam. Frequencies may not be exact, I didn't use BlindScan. I just keyed frequencies from the standard Astra frequency plan into my Skybox to see if anything was...

Just like the test on 11642GHz/V.

Astra 2E at 28.2E: General Discussion Part 3

Would that mean that Scotland (like Ireland) would have to encrypt their channels? Surely, there are a lot more people in rest-UK than in Scotland, for which the Scottish channels wouldn't have the transmission rights?

Astra 2E at 28.2E: General Discussion Part 2

So 12441V is also active, is this also on 2A South beam do we think? Hi I can't tell. I'm having a hard time distinguishing 2A South from 2E PE at my location. Regards, Bengt

Astra 2E at 28.2E: General Discussion Part 2

Is 12129H the only remaining data TP left active now at 28E? Hi Isn't it 12129V? Anyway, I belive there's 12441V (which was previously 11186V). BTW, 11008V, which was switched on and off yesterday, could still have been on 1N. So we still can't be asbolutely sure if 2E/2F can transmit Europe...

Astra 2E at 28.2E: General Discussion Part 2

Lyngsat seems to have forgotten about 11778V. It's not listed on any satellite at 28.2E. (It should of course be on 2E PE.)

Astra 2F at 28.2E: General Discussion

Hi What I don't understand is the 2G Euro beam. The 2F AND 2E Eurobeams are similar, but the 2G Eurobeam is totally different. It is the only (european) beam on 2E/2F/2G which isn't centered on the UK. Maybe 2E/2F are meant to be permanently placed at 28,2E, whilst 2G will be available to...

    Astra 2E: Transit to 28.2E

Hi Just noticed that another poster on the DS forum is now claiming that Astra 2E can definitely NOT transmit in band C. After checking the 2E testing thread I found these frequencies in the list: 10964V/H, 10970V, 10986H, 10990H, 11011V, 11015V, 11030V, 11054H, 11090V, 11117V, 11134V...

    Astra 2E: Transit to 28.2E

Hi, and thanks for the replies. Sorry. I thought that Astra 2E could transmit in band C as well. (In that context, my question made more sense.) Regards, Bengt

    Astra 2E: Transit to 28.2E

Hi I noticed that a certain person on the DS forum is claiming that Astra 2E is totally different from 2F, and that it has a 3m 'super reflector' which will make reception outside the UK extremely difficult. Do we think there's anything to this claim? During the testing at 43.5, did 2E seem...
