Hi mate, to strip the cable, remove outer black sheath carefully with a sharp knife about 15mm from the end, then you will find a copper outer cable this needs to be saved, under that is a copper paper layer remove this with knife, then there is a white plastic tube with the copper bable inside...

go to maplins they sell it by the metre and buy two ends, dead easy to make them up.
