Those differences in "detail" on 40W C-band likely simply reflect the same detail stored (or not) in each box's satellites.xml file, inserted into the scan results by the syncWithKnownTransponders() function. The octagon-blindscan binary in the sf8008 for sure doesn't return any such details...

Enough of these bullshit upstream IPTV etc box updates. Is there any reason the SX88 cannot have this "much more precise engine control" that the quoted box enjoys? Is DiSEqC 1.2 only an issue for the Octagon engineers? Do they struggle with that *and* releasing GPL sources too?

Hi stephan. In practice, I cannot see the difference between 'Auto' and 'TP' scans. Here, 'Auto' doesn't seem to erase those TPs with no signal as you indicated. I'm running 1.04.32.
