Aaaaaaaargh Sky News Active screens go down from 8 -> 4 With no notice. What’s happening?

Well it’s kinda hard to tell but the ‘no access no card’ banner keeps coming up on them even though they are (presumably) unencrypted. :-sball

Two points. I’m finding that the picture stream (but not sound) eventually breaks down after a period of time (like 5 minutes or more) and this can only be remedied by switching away and back to the channel when it’s fine for another 5 minutes. Very annoying. On the ‘slow channel clearing’...

Same here. I’m guessing if they reduce the total number of channels on the transponder on December 10 - which it looks like they intend to - then things will improve. Maybe.

OK. I too had this channel non-available. Now I look, you are absolutely right. It’s working just fine. Not blocky; not stop-starting; not jerky. I think that’s conclusive. It’s not an lnb/dish/local receiver problem; it’s a SV problem. I’m now going to wash my eyes out. :-rofl2

I just checked my signal strength etc on that particular transponder and it’s absolutely fine. I also just today took receipt of a Viaccess 3 Cam but it makes no difference. Pretty much all other channels from 13°E (like the Mediaset ones) are just fine also so I doubt it’s the LNB (or dish)...

This is getting very annoying. I even bought a modern Viaccess Cam in the hopes it was the problem. But it made little difference. SV does not respond at all to emails. The picture has been just dreadful for almost a month now with breakup and blocky juddery pictures. Occasionally it even...
