I've just bought a number of these to read smartcards to one receiver. I can't get it to work though. i have updated the firmware but when I put it in to the USB port on the receiver with the smartcard in, nothing happens. Can anyone help me please? I have an octagon sf1018 hd receiver.

Valid point. However, the concerns over copyright are not consistent. If subscibers outside territories are forbidden in paying a subscription, then why can DVD's be bought in Europe and shipped to the UK. The broadcaster's rules are all wrong.

You are allowed to subscribe to Viasat or any other European broadcaster provided you are in Europe. Read the Television without Frontiers directive. It states there that transmissions should not be restricted to territories and free movement of goods and services applies.
