This was my reason for joining the forum as well, I managed to point my dish at the wrong satellite and after a few days of patiently talking me through loads of different things, the people on this forum sorted me out. top job everyone.

Forgive the newbie question, but which part is the jack and what does it do? I'd love to be able to receive every satellite visible from the UK, but I'm lead to believe that a 1m dish is the biggest I can have without planning, and also the biggest that it's advisable to bolt to the side of my...

Right then... over the weekend I have manually input the details for 3 different channels (on my digibox you input the frequency and then search for channels) the box has reported no channels for all 3. It seems fairly clear to me now that my dish is pointing in the wrong direction. I wonder...

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks this is bizarre, I also didn't think that I'd get a lock without the quality being OK, but I do. strangely the strength remains constant, it hasn't changed in the 4 days since we put the dish up, the quality though is still changing every 5 seconds or so...
