Astra 2G: Iberia & Balearics Reports

Thanks to all who have responded. It looks pretty clear that with a quality 1.2m dish and good LNB I'll be sorted. (If anyone is interested I was told at a well-known satellite supply shop that I would need a minimum 2.5m dish in Madrid to pick up Astra2G). I don't have the knowledge or...

Astra 2G: Iberia & Balearics Reports

Hi all - I've been watching this forum closely in order to decide whether to install a dish (I have a Humax Freesat receiver) here in the Retiro area of Madrid, but I haven't seen any clear conclusions regarding final position for 2G and reliable signal reports. Can anyone help. Information I've...

Astra 2E: Iberia & Balearics Reports

I'm only confirming what everyone already knows - here in Barcelona (city) reception of all BBC channels is now down to a big fat zero. Continue to receive ITVs and 4s. How unlucky is it to be smack bang in the middle of a complete null?! Does anyone know of reception in this area with bigger...

Astra 2F: Iberia & Balearics Discussion

It's beginning to look a lot like the Barcelona area is in a blind spot on the beam. Baligale's experience is similar to mine and would suggest that even if I had a larger dish I wouldn't be any better off. My own "satellite-installer-guy" (also in Barcelona) just told me that he has no signal...

Ok, just to improve my (previously posted) reception report: My reception report from: · Barcelona, Spain (now light broken cloud) · Lat: 41.4 N, Lon: 2.2 E · Dish: 80 cm, Twin LNB · Humax Foxsat. Pace DS430N Transponders: · 11.023 H, SR 23.000: SIGNAL --> 0 QUALITY --> 0 (all zero) ·...

Astra 2F: Iberia & Balearics Discussion

So this morning I found: Barcelona. 80cm dish on twin LNB Humax Foxsat and Pace Sky Digibox LOSS of Channel 5 and Channel 4HD: ZERO SS and SQ on both transponders. However, I hear reports from further south of good reception. Can anyone explain why I've lost signal? Could Barcelona be in a...

    Astra 2F: Pre-Operational Discussion

Weird - nothing at all on my Sky Digibox either. Could Barcelona be in some sort of black spot? (I could never get anything at all on 11023). Why would this be???

Zero signal on Ch5 and Channel 4 HD here in Barcelona with an 80cm dish and on Humax Foxsat receiver. I'd be interested to hear what our friends down near Valencia - Alicante are observing. (also Sky News and Challenge seem to have been moved onto the Freesat EPG).

Nope. I have tried EVERYTHING! I think I've probably gone through pretty well all of Foxsat's parameters, trying different combinations, permutations etc. I'm either in "Blackspot Barcelona", or I've got a "Flawed Foxsat". (It was either that or something unprintable... :-biglaugh ).

I press "save" but it all stays at zero. The transponder doesn't "stay" saved either... I'm thinking there has to be some obscure antenna setting parameter which is not right. But that said, my current Frresat reception on all channels is very good.

I think my Humax Foxsat must be playing up. Manual Search in non-freesat mode.... choose 11023H SR23000 2/3 etc. and not a sausage. I can't imagine that Barcelona is in some kind of bubble.....

So, I think I may have been wrong about my initial reports. I can't get anything on 11023H on my Humax Foxsat box in Barcelona. However, what confuses me is that, looking through the full list of transponders on my Freesat box, 11023 doesn't appear (up until now, this is not a transponder I have...

So the question is: did you get a picture on your Foxsat, scanning 11023H? If so, mine must have a gremlin.

I have a Humax Foxsat too and it just will NOT let me save the transponder. I have to tinker around an awful lot to get it to "look" at 11023H , but it does give me an 85% SS and 90%SQ. However, since I can't save the transponder as a "user defined", I can't scan it for channels and thus have...
