Cast adrift by our very own BBC

Ah yes, OK, when I said we were cast adrift, I meant those of us outside 2D who have enjoyed BBC radio for 10 years or more on satellite now have only the option of BBC Prime, and no quality radio. Ok there is internet radio but if you're not on broadband....? If we keep the pressure up as Jim...

Cast adrift by our very own BBC

Mmm...I was pointing out that BBC Prime is the only alternative to the BBC services in the UK and as such it could be a whole lot better - I think this argument is better carried on the other thread..... It's just a pity that the Beeb is only now starting to understand the mentality of it's own...

Cast adrift by our very own BBC

I was drawing attention to the ( already known) fact that the Beeb are happy to admit that their commercial arm is not directed at expats, but rather is some do gooding socialist effort to help people overseas to learn English and to be exposed to British "culture" such as is displayed on BBC...

Cast adrift by our very own BBC

Well at least we know BBC Prime is not meant for expats.....it was silly to email them, assuming that this might possibly be the case - if just a little bit - requesting quality programming....I should have known better. Onwards with the HP payments on that dish! JD For the BBC, Joanna...

    Lost Bbc In Europe ???

I can offer another perspective to this.. If Steve could find the time to travel down to my neck of the woods I am in the position to offer him a good old fashioned punch on the nose. Just the sort of berk a lot of us emigrated to avoid meeting on the street. Please feel free to delete, Rolf...

    Astra in Poland

Useful info Talc regarding dish weights! The wind factor must also be a problem when installing on apartment balconies etc. My estate was built on an incline and the wind funnels through the gaps between blocks. If you live in a 70s city housing estate, you could always negotiate to install on...

    Astra in Poland

Thanks Talc......... Today TVP Warsaw intimated to Darek Kurtko at Gazeta Wyborcza that a 2.4 dish is definitely the go....... I too live in a block but am prepared to take the plunge after summer as I run English schools and find the BBC very useful source material. All bad news though so...
