What's the guessing that Sky will compress their HD channels even more to make 4K look impressive? :D I seem to remember the SD channels being made to look significantly worse when HD started getting flogged by them!

I really wish some of these were closesr to me! A nice 1.8m would certainly help with feedhunting! ;)

Sorry to correct you - but actually in the past couple of years of the contest, the points have just been read out from the spokespersons from each country on the stage. Hope that they won't start going down the same route with the contest in May... :/

I still can't work out why these recordings don't play. As remlap says, it's possible to re-encode them with software - but it seems really odd that they won't play on the receiver or directly from the file itself. Is it possibly something to do with the fact that the receiver uses FAT32, but...

What band are these high frequencies transponders on? I've never seen or heard of the before. Presumably a particular LNB and suitable receiever is required to pick up the channels?

Seems a bit more organised that last year. Justin Bieber winning Best Male. Christ... Always nice to watch it live, rather than the hour delay on MTV UK or Channel 5! :P The music played on the VT loop during the adverts is starting to grate now, mind! ;)

That did cross my mind too. I even had a quick browse for Scandinavian TV listings to see if anyone was showing it. Apparently Telenor also have facilities in central London, so it might just be that they're using them to uplink rather than Arqiva/SIS etc?

Nothing too much of interest during the ad breaks, unfortunately... However, I noticed that on the second audio channel, the crowd noise seems louder that the presenters mics, and there's no production music during the live interviews etc. Also, I've uploaded a short recording of one of the ad...

Thanks. Will give it a try! Thought first of all that the USB drive couldn't keep up with the high data rate of the feeds... But the same thing even happens on low bitrate channels. Seems like a strange bug!

Anyone had any success with this? On other receivers, if I just open the .TS file in VLC - it plays fine - but I have no such luck with the TM5402 :( It just flashes between '00:00' and '--:--' in the corner, and refuses to play. I tried to convert a recording with MediaCoder, but it just seems...
