    Idman TV on 42E

Thanks very much to everyone who has responded to this. I have looked again and I think I am definately on 43E because of other programmes I am able to get from its other TPs. On 10968 I have a good peak for H or V polarisation - likewise the next TP at 11011, for both H and V, but in both...

hi, sorry for hyjacking the other thread. the thing i dont understand is that i seem to be picking up the TP or is the same frequency used by both beams maybe ? cheers g

    Idman TV on 42E

I also have been looking into receiving IdmanTV. I can pick up the TP on 10.968H at a reasonable strength (about 4dB) with my 1.2m CM and there are several programmes on the stream, but I don't seem to be able to find Idman in there. I see the symbol rate is published as 11200 and FEC 5/6...

The results are in Andrew c120 feedhorn VS smart titanium lnb-f

Hi Wod, No, don't have any other 'current' LNBs to try - I got the Smart in specially. Have various legacy LNBs but not so interested in messing with them as realistically they are unlikely to ever match the Smart's electronics. I think my next experiment is going to be tweaking the current...

I wanted to keep the CM feedhorn unaltered, assuming it was designed to perfectly match the dish so my alterations were only to the Smart. It would be very interesting to see your pics. GB

Going a bit off topic now I guess, but if enough of us wanted to, we might be able to get an order together for a batch of these to be printed professionally? Yeah, I know, copyright etc etc, but are they going to sue us for being loyal to their product ? GB

LOL. I have a pressure washer which I know would clean it off, but it would also remove the remains of the ChannelMaster logo sticker, which would be a shame. I think I will try sponging it down with dilute bleach and then wash with clean water (AKA rain). Fibreglass is pretty immune to...

Ah yes, thanks that's the one. Maybe we could start adding some pics in that thread ? Also Hexah, yes quite agree about dish algae. It does seem to build up. I'm going to have a go with some dilute bleach solution when the weather gets a bit better. GB.

Yeah, maybe I'll look out for one. It would be interesting to know whether manufacturers are now all using the same low-noise devices for the input stages of their LNBs or if they are all different. Don't suppose anyone wants to pull their working LNBs apart to find out :-reindeer Even...

Hmm, that's a thought. Also, I need to look into turning a groove in the flange end of the CM feedhorn to accept an O ring as has been suggested. Usually the groove and O ring goes in the LNB side, but the newly formed flange is pretty thin already, with no depth for a groove. I can't imagine...

I did take pictures whilst I did the mods, so I present them for your perusal. Thanks for the offer Serguei - a milling machine would have made a much nicer job of removing the unwanted casting. Please note, the CM Feedhorn was not modified in any way. I also need to find a source of tiny nuts...

Well, I took the plunge on Saturday and set to adapting the Smart for C120 flange mounting. I noted that the entire rear part of the waveguide where the dipoles are is virtually identical on the Inverto and the Smart (as you would expect for the same band of frequencies). Having carefully...

Hmm, I wonder if we are talking about the same feedhorn here. Mine isn't adjustable, except in terms of 'in-out' position and even that is fixed by a low flange that fits into the split 40mm adaptor rings to locate it. Further to this, I tried some tests around 3:00pm yesterday from here in...

Hi Hexah, great response - thanks for that info. Most enlightening. Thanks, I'd already done it just as you said. Hmmm. Interestingly when you identify the points where horn joins waveguide in both cases and align them side by side, the official CM mounting bracket locating ring position...
