    Radio Amateurs (et al!)

I had one as well, a flashing light/led was one of the projects if I remember right? An it came with 4 black plastic pegs which pushed into the 4 corners of the underside to act as feet. There is another one up for grabs...

WebIF stream whilst watching another channel

This works fine with the VU+ Solo2 and OpenPLi. Tuner A and Tuner B I posted my thoughts yesterday.

    VU+ Solo2 WebIF --- Strange behaviour

Yes it certainly is ... my long standing preconception of twin tuner was to watch one channel off on tuner and "record" another channel of the second tuner. Surprisingly the penny only dropped after discovery.

    VU+ Solo2 WebIF --- Strange behaviour

This afternoon I was watching a 28.2E channel on my PC using "VU+ Solo2 - OpenWebIf" in my dining room. (( OpenPLi) Later I returned to my living room where my TV and VU+ Solo2 are interconnected to each other by a SCART cable. I switched the TV on and changed to a 19.2E channel and watched...

    vu+ solo2

I have only the OpenPLi 3.0 beta installed (updated as and when a newer version comes up.) (With no additional transcoding plugins.) I watch streamed TV over my internal LAN everyday with no problems. I have no need to stream over the internet

Controlling two jacks with one positioner

As the Diseqc signal from the positioner to the actuator are very simple digital pulses I would tend think that it is possible. (My reasoning is that with digital logic almost anything is mappable) It would be a component which behaves similarly to a splitter. Splitting/repeating/replicating...

    vu+ solo2

Ummm.... Straight after a reflash I had my doubts. OpenWebIf stuttered. But I posted a few questions. No conclusive answers so I went back to basics reflashed rescanned Etc and wow it was all there. This was with the basic OpenPli release NO additional plugins were installed. I had no...

    Getting German TV in UK

Simple to get one channel Euronews and change default language to German. Doesn't affect the other channels. If there are others in the house they won't even notice any difference to the usual UK/English language channels. I've done this on several family SKY boxes and I flick over to the...

    Play in the jack-arm?

PG-54 is a good general purpose grease if you have it to hand. But if your going to buy think about a small tube of marine grease better for low load outdoor usage IMHO.

    Play in the jack-arm?

Totally agree. I think I would consider popping a traveling plastic sleeve over the rod before reassembly and adding a reservoir of grease for the rod to bath in somehow.

    Play in the jack-arm?

Short term quick solution is to put a bungee cord (or 2) on the rim of your dish to a convenient point on the arm or fence or wherever. These will stabilise the dish when it stops by taking out the play. As an afterthought a string with a weight would also work.

    Extreme plumbing...

Just an afterthought, Orbitron was the software .... and make sure that you have enough or the right bandwidth set on you receiver.

    Extreme plumbing...

I haven't used mine for a few years. It is still in position at the bottom of my garden. Used my AOR AR5000 +3 Made the two helix out of 8 or 10 mm copper pipe and elbows, and where the ends cross put them through (at right angles) some GRP tube. Not sure what software is available but...

    New house, new dish project

For my penny worth it would definitely be bottom of the garden. Perhaps an IBC tank if you can beg borrow or whatever one. 1/2 filled with water (or sand) for foundation? Certainly easy to relocate later. (and plenty of opportunities for attachment.
