I have finally opened up the motor casing only to find out that one of the sensor wires had worked itself loose.
At least I can handle that!
Now to the fun of setting up the vbox with the receiver. Let's hope it's simple and trouble free!
Thank you all for your help.
Thanks blobber.
No I haven't yet but I will.
Apart from testing the sensor/reed switch resistance and ensuring that the wires are actually connected to the switch, is there anything else I need to be looking out for?
I've now connected all the wires to the Vbox.
I can manually (using the Vbox remote) move the motor east and west.
However, after every move, the Vbox display shows "E-2".
Also after saving a position I can't get the motor to move to it.
Finally, after I set the electrical limits on the Vbox, I...
Thanks Rolf.
I connected the motor wires to the vbox and I can manually move the motor.
If I have to I will get up the ladder and open the motor and find out but if the other wires are connected, can they be connected to anything else other than the sensor?
Hi all
At the moment I'm using a SuperJack EW 101 positioner, like the one below, to manually move the motor.
The cable coming from the motor has four wires (brown, red, blue and yellow) and for this positioner I'm only using the brown and red wires to move the motor.
Now that I've acquired a...
I've got a pretty primitive setup. The motor came with a manual positioner with just two buttons (east / west).
My longitude is -0.78. So, I should leave it at zero then?
Thanks Rolf and Robbo
Can you clear up/confirm a couple of things for me please.
- Motor elevation for for my latitude (90-50.8) should be 39.2
- What should my dish elevation be for Thor?
- Do I need to drive the motor by 1 degree before I align it to Thor?
From what I understand, the idea is that, at the start, the dish elevation is fixed and you'd adjust the motor elevation up or down until you get a signal.
Then you'd optimise with some fine adjustments of the mount azimuth, dish elevation or motor elevation.
Then you'd lock to motor elevation...
Hi,
This is the first time I've installed a motorised setup. So please bear with me!
I have inherited a Worldsat motor with a French manual.
As it looks different from most other motors I've seen, I decided to use the instructions that came with it rather than the "standard" way .
What the...
Just to let you all know that I've got the system working.
It was my ignorance that was to blame. I didn't know that the alignment
had to be exact.
Thank you for help again.
Thank you guys for your replies.

The pre-programmed ZDF channel is set to 1214, which as I understand it is the 10964 frequency converted to a 4 digit frequency.
I tried you suggestion and programmed another channel with Vertical Polarization and Low Band reception with a video frequency...
According to the manual I can use the setup for:
Changing the Vertical or Horizontal Polarization Reception
Changing the Video Frequency
Changing the Audio Frequency
Setting/Activating the 22KHz Switching Signal
Activating the DiSEqC Function
Is any of the above to do with the LNB?
The...
There's no options menu on this particular receiver. The only thing you can do is program channels on the small display on the receiver itself.
If I am not getting any signal, and apart from the LNB or receiver being faulty, is there anything else I can check.
As far as I know, the cable...
I did try placing the dish at different angles but did not measure the elevation with precision.
But shouldn't I get some sort of signal even if weak on the TV? All I get is blue background on the TV and no sign of recepiont at all!
Cheers.
