True, there is a certain element of risk with any sub - however it's not looking good for most tring users. Similar situation to last year. You pay through the nose for a decent supplier - however the risk is somewhat reduced.. Gray area, just go back to analogue and everything fta ;)

Yes.. I guess I should add it may take a few hours in software.. Hardware cam is quicker... Yes.. Newcs and mgcamd.. Works but slow to activate.. There is a particular classes provider .. Think it's 0000048 or similar.. Most cards are not this version and not working.

You don't need to use a cam(hardware) to activate or update.. Software Cam emulation works fine. The issue with channels is one of entitlements..

John, Yes there are some free to air channels you can recieve. You will need to be a valid sub for the box, it does not have to be paired and will work in any official box after activation Irish.

A weak signal can be reached in Belfast on a 125 Gibi, at a stretch a 1.5 should pull it in (but might be impacted by rain fade). Further West it's probably looking like a 1.8 or above for a similar signal. Excollier maybe able to comment more on this as he is from Donegal..

4.8 - but not the important channels like Viasat from the Nordic Beam, not that far west / north - perhaps 6DB and picture breakup.

Scooby, You should be able to pull in 7e, 10e, 16e, 23e and 39e on that Gibi + Lnb, perhaps an Inverto Ultra Dark will give you a signal boost on fringe reception. If you need assistance with your alignment - Chris is yer man.. :)
