I think this is the problems as there's no sign of self-amalgamating tape :( This doesn't fill me with confidence in getting the person back to correct the problem.

What would be a safer bet then in terms of motor for that size dish and location? What's the next step up from DiSEqC? I'd rather be safe than sorry. I don't want to be calling the installer out every week with alignment issues etc as I'm not very technical – maybe that's his plan?
