Advice Needed Which satellite dish and unicable LNB?

Thanks for this. I don't need any legacy ports as i don't use FreeSat and will just be using this for FTA on Astra 28.2E, so taking this into account I am thinking the following: Dish: Standard Sky Zone 2 Dish LNB: DUR-line UK 124 - Can this be used without a splitter on 1 box? Sky Dish...

Advice Needed Which satellite dish and unicable LNB?

Does anyone have suggestions on the above? Would like to use the best rated LNB and dish if possible. I'm thinking of getting a Unicable II setup with at least 2 feeds, so I can use one feed to watch/record while the other can be used to update CrossEPG. I'm trying to avoid the use of a...

    Help Required LNB Failure?

So I had a closer look at my dish today and noticed a crack in my LNB, in the centre, in the shape of a "x".As soon as I saw this I knew the LNB had to be replaced. I replaced the LNB with a spare one I had and everything worked again. Whole thing took me 20 mins to do and was fairly...

    Help Required LNB Failure?

What I've found now is that I have picture, but it's extremely blocky and freezing. On Signal Finder, both the SNR and AGC values are extremely volatile. I guess this rules out LNB failure and believe my dish may just need re-alignment?

    Help Required LNB Failure?

Wouldn't I have to re-align the dish after installing the new LNB? This is what concerns me as I wouldn't have a clue how to find Astra 28.2E.

    Help Required LNB Failure?

I have 2 tuners in the receiver, which is just over a year old. The LNB is 7 years old.

    Help Required LNB Failure?

Connections in the LNB seem fine. I've contacted my local satellite installer and he has quoted me £69 to get the LNB replaced tomorrow, which I thought was a bit steep considering that freesat partners charge £120 for a new freesat installation. Is this the going rate?

    Help Required LNB Failure?

I don't have one lying about unfortunately. Not at the moment or during the last day or so. I've checked the connections in the receiver end and this seems fine as I've unscrewed and re screwed them back in. I will need to have a look on the LNB side.

    Help Required LNB Failure?

I've got a Xtrend ET8500 with OpenVix installed. Everything was working great till this morning when I tried to switch on the box and I kept getting the error message "Tune failed!" and couldn't watch any channel. I've looked under signal finder and found that everything is at 0 and I've also...

BBC UHD on Sky Q 28.8e showing Wimbledon.

I was looking for information on this. BBC released a statement a few weeks ago saying that only the Semi-Final and Final will be shown on UHD on Sky Q over satellite. Me being the optimist, I was hoping it would be available FTA somewhere seeing as the BBC were broadcasting this.

    Bigger Dish, Worse Signal Quality

Well the Sky engineer came and immediately noticed a weak signal on our main Sky Q box. He inspected the dish and noticed that the brackets were loose, which meant that the dish could move about slightly, and that it hadn't been aligned properly. He fixed all that and now my SNR varies between...

    Bigger Dish, Worse Signal Quality

Unfortunately i don't know what he changed with the dish (if anything) and I can't reach the dish without a ladder I did try to contact him when I had my concerns and tried to contact him and left an urgent message for him to call me back once my fears were confirmed, but I haven't had any...

    Bigger Dish, Worse Signal Quality

Its installed with a Sky Q Hybrid LNB, which supports upto 6 feeds, so I can use Sky Q and a generic satellite receiver.
