Thats what i mean nobody can give an exact answer :confused: my last sky panasonic box which as just died didn't need resetting when it was powered down it was setup once and that was it.
Anybody living in the canaries who can give me 100% answer on what to do?

I like it a lot, would it be possible to use satellite internet instead of getting an ADSL line installed, i have an apartment in tenerife which has a 1M dish and sky.
Anybody know how much ADSL costs in tenerife?

Is it possible to read the firmware from a DVB-S receiver without removing the eeprom, I do have the Willam programmer and have removed and dumped eeproms before without any problems, but the receiver belongs to a mate who’s not happy with me removing the eeprom.
The receiver has the RS232 port...
Just returned from Tenerife but I haven’t cracked it yet.
The first thing I did was download my mates channel list file and transferred it to my own box, everything looked good but when I connected it to the aerial it didn’t work, all the channel info was displayed and the signal was locked...
The aerial is ok providing you switch off the lnb power in the settings menu or use a voltage block,
The reason i asked about the PIDs is because i have spoken to a guy in Lanzarote who as tried the 1000D, he says it finds the frequency ok but not the PIDs, but that's in Lanzarote the system...

I want to get my 1000D working on the retransmitted BBC ITV CH4 system used in tenerife.
The signal is transmitted in the 950Mhz range which allows a standard FTA satellite box to receive the signal using a Log Periodic antenna, because its an antenna and not a dish you need to switch off...
Here goes this is my first post on the forum, can anybody tell me the exact spec of the antenna used in tenerife also the best FTA box for the job.
My mate has just had this system installed but the box has no manufactures name on it and i can't find any menus showing the PIDs and frequency...
