Ok... You'll find it works better with the F connector attached to the cable. Unlike most connectors, the cable's centre conductor becomes the centre pin of the connector, and the connector is really just a ring with a screw thread on it. From that photo there seems to be very little braid left...

Well if your pc and router are on 192.168.2.0/24 then the dreambox being on 10.0.0.97 won't work without manual route table fun... If it's getting 10.0.0.97 from DHCP then something's wrong... Most likely thing though is that the dreambox isn't getting DHCP. Does your pc use DHCP?

geostationary satellites are a supprising distance from earth (35,786 km) , and the 10-12GHz signals can get weakened at night - it's not that much, but if the signal is a bit on the weak side anyway it can be enough to send it over the edge.

Don't forget that it's a few degrees round the equator, the actual dish angle difference is much smaller... Hotbird's just about the most powerful signal in that area of the sky so keep moving round until you have the strongest signal you can get, and it's either 19.2 astra or 13E hotbird...
