I receive all the digital FTA on Hotbird myself and do know about the Cyfra package but she wont pay for that but there are enough free ones. I only watch Viva Polska myself as don't speak Polish although I did watch a good English soundtrack film on TV Polonia once. I expect she will hang on...

Yes BBC Prime and BBC World are of course available and there is the Greek and Middle East satellites with all sorts of programmes but I wont go into that as this forum is not about that area. So will Astra 2D come into Paphos on a 2.7m dish as I believed it to be 4.2m?

I am trying to help a friend who will have an appartment in Cyprus and wishes to get Sky if possible. What size dish is needed and is 2D a problem? Also are there restrictions on dish size? I have no problem with finding footprints but someone with experience on this would help. Thanks

I fully appreciate that going for analogue is a good idea for the range of channels but how long they will be there.........

The analogue channels will not be around forever so personally I would buy a digital FTA receiver and get a 90 cm dish put 3 LNB's on it to cover 28.2/13.5/19.2° E and there will be several French programmes plus many other channels to view

I expect that TCM has gone into the Family Package so without a subscription there will be no joy.

TCM may be free on SKY but the films are different!!
