well, my 2p worth. could be a combination of things i guess. weak signal, too much compression being used by the broadcaster (doubt it would be that on bbc though..). i dare say it could even be the freeview box isnt working properly, would rather depend on age of box i guess.:confused:

agreed, ebay is your friend on this one! i used to have one as well, good reciever really. i shouldn't have sold it to be honest. oh well, never mind!

this may sound like a silly question, but what do you mean by it being 'worse than terrible'? are you seeing pixellation/blockiness for example? the plasma/lcd thing i believe is referring to those types of displays showing the poor picture quality often associated with over compressed digital...

must admit, i've been toying with the idead for some time. 2 things have wetted my appetite further; first off, helping a friend install and set up his motorised satellite system last year, and seeing all the nice set ups pictured on here!! i've bben aware of this forum/website for a while but...

all of these put my modest sky digital system to shame! just getting started myself, but money is tight and there is no particular rush!
