Cheers for the advice folks. I will try the suggestions,but i do not know if i can get into clean the part that you suggest. It is a Samsung DVD-ROM SD.608,and sometimes i have to open and close the drawer a few times b4 it opens the disks,but now it does not open any of them,not even the ones...

I run xp prof on my packard bell,but i am having probs opening DVD-R disks. I buy these disks with lots of music albums on them,(purely for learning purposes)but my machine refuses to open them,or it takes ages for to open them sometimes. Any one got any idea how to fix this prob . Many Thanks :o
