Have upgraded to a bigger dish with the help of this forum, so my turn to do something nice back :)
Can be collected from Aylesbury, Bucks (HP19) and is complete with pole fixings.
Also have a single quad LNB and an old Sky receiver (no card though, but will work for free-to-air stuff) you can...
I'm still using PLi, and have recently discovered the AutoTimer plugin, which allows you to set up 'Season Passes' (TiVo term for those who know ;))... perfect!
I've also taken delivery of my Vu+ Duo last week, and pretty much echo all the above. And looking at the retailer where I got mine from, he instantly sold out of his stock, so these things do remain in high demand.
Thought that was widely known by now? :)
It seems to be the closest to a DM8000 without the DM8000 price tag. Am running the PLi image for now after spending 1 day on the original VU+ image.
Some minor annoyances:
Fan is runnning constantly and although very quiet, it's not silent.
Software...
Oh dear... I fear a divorce coming as I've just pre-ordered a Vu+ Duo receiver to put the icing on the cake. Was originally going to wait for a few months, but with hardly anyone supplying it and talks of shortages due to high demand made me bottle out :D
Update
Took the advice from satelliteman and bought a Triax TD88 to replace the TD64 and attempted today to install it all. How hard can it be? ;)
As it turns out, very hard :(
Replacing the dish was an easy enough job, but even after making sure the elevation of the TD88 matched the...
That's great news (finally). Shame you still have to fork out an additional 5 euro/month for the HD package, but on the other hand, it's cheaper than Sky :)
Would it be possible for me to contact you by PM regards a quote for an installation (and possible supply of a Triax TD78 as I'm starting to seriously doubt I can fit the 3 LNBs on my current TD64) in Aylesbury (HP19)? More info on what I have and want...
I'm going to try it first with my current one, and see if I can get a satisfactory signal out of it. If it fails, then it will be a bigger dish, but it also means I would have to get it installed as I'm not confident enough to 'start from scratch' again.
Update
I've bit the bullet and bought the Triax TD multi LNB bracket, 2x 4/1 Diseqc switches (am going to start with just the single twin receiver first) and a twin LNB. Should all be here next week, and then it's just a matter of pencelling in a weekend to do the upgrade :)
