What's the PSU and does it mean getting a new box?
Ah, ok, yes just never heard that phrase before.
I actually saw Humax suggested somewhere else too, but all I need to know is what's good with a fringe signal out here in Norway.
Thanks for all the help so far.
No, no subscription and no intentions of getting one. Whats a 7 day EPG?
I've looked around since my last post and it seems there's no benefit at all in going with an old Sky box over freesat, unless someone here can argue different. Looks like I'll be trying to pick up a Humax then, it seems...
Okay, the most likely thing if it isn't weather seems to be the box then? When I bought it 3 or 4 years ago, The Pace DS430N or older 2600 seemed to be the things I saw recommended most. What should I be looking for now?
Is there any good reason to get a freesat one instead of a sky one?
Hi, I hope somebody can help me here, if I'm posting in the wrong place maybe somebody can move it for me, thanks.
I have a Pace Sky box (430n?) that I use here in Norway with a one metre dish. I always have a hundred percent signal strength even in bad weather (doesn't miss a thing even in...
Thanks for all of the help, I tried by-passing the signal combiner and everything worked fine.
Probably one of the cheapest and easiest bits of the set-up to replace.
I don't have a Sky subscription, I just get the free channels, although I do have one of the cards that just get me Channel 4, 5 and Sky 3.
Would it work?
I like to think I'm interesting, but you'd have to ask my friends.
I'm probably going to have to replace my Pace ds430n which has been very reliable up until now (I may have broken it).
I know very little about Sky plus having been out of the UK for years now. Is this something I can get easily abroad or does it mean paying lots and having to use UK addresses...
I might need a new box soon, there's a lot here to trudge through. Has there been a clear favourite?
I know little, but can I use SKY+ living abroad without a Sky subscription or is that pointless and I just need a normal SKY box?
I think you're talking about the right thing, but I've occasionally been putting an aerial amplifier on the cable between those two (when not using the satellite channels). I'm wondering if doing that would've damaged the LNB or the receiver.
Don't like the sound of that.
The terrestrial and satellite signals come in combined and there's a place where I can insert an amplifier for the terrestrial signal before it reaches the box on the wall. Obviously this means that the amplifier is also connected to the LNB and receiver as well...
Not easily, which is most likely? LNB is quite new but cheap, Pace box is good quality but second hand.
I put an antennae amplifier on the cable for a while to improve my antennae reception for norwegian telly (the antennae and dish signals are combined before they come into the house) then I...
I have had a fairly reliable signal here in norway for some time, but two days ago it just completely disappeared.
Not just a weaker signal but nothing at all. All of my cables are still properly connected and the weather has been fairly clear for a while. It has faded before in heavy weather...
