your right enough Chris, i did put the 3.0W in before and that IS as you say, how you set the coordinates, the reason it didn't work as the gardener had lent on my dish i just installed at the front and moved it off.. he has been dealt with in no uncertain terms ..seems to be all ok now...

have a bit off an issue here .. looking to add 7 west to my lineup ..so i can add the sat ok, but i use USALS and i cannot see there to add the satellite coordinates even in disecq theres nothing to specify the actual sat coordinates. .. any ideas guys.

hi, i got a 2nd hand 5302 off ebay for the living room, the menu freezes after about 8 button pushes, then releases after about 20 secs, then does the same again, i managed to do a factory reset and put on phantom, but problem still persist, any ideas guys ? cheers rob

looking good chris. the rtl sdr dongles have in impedance of 75 Ohms so sat cable will be fine to feed the antenna you made, however if you only have 50 ohm coax, its ok, as the mismatch would be minimal cheers rob

like the guys said, better if you can get it on the roof or poking out the loft skylight, make sure theres nothing obscuring your antenna :)

its a funny thing Chris, ive built many antennas but always seem to go back to commercial store bought stuff, even if my homebrews work fine, maybe a lack of confidence I'm my own builds ? :D
