Hi hopper, the tape was an extra measure of mine under the amalg. tape to repel water etc (maybe seemingly abit over kill). Its over the f connector fitting upto the neck of the nut, rather than under the fitting if thats what you mean. I plan to retape up the setup once ive got everything tested.

Hi matey Just a bit confused by what your saying, Iam assuming that what you are saying is these LMBs could \ have been manufactured slightly wrongly and the zero skew on the unit isnt correct or in the usuual position. And to offset this problem I need to skew the LNB to the "actual" zero...
