    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

90 cm dish MTI LNB Humax freeview. Cloudy (well foggy actually) and light rain last night. All channels OK but as the rain got heavier so channels started to break up, BBC 1&2 HD ITVHD Ch.5 became unwatchable but BBC SD channels still OK. I tested a 120cm last Saturday in thick cloud and light...

Advice Needed Bad weather signal drop

Thanks. That was my conclusion was but understandably people are anxious (perhaps over-anxious might be a better description) to get their TV back. I've my 90cm dish, a 110cm nearby and a 120cm and a 130cm that I know of and have checked are well aligned. All working OK in clear conditions with...

Advice Needed Bad weather signal drop

Thanks but it doesn't really help much. There are only 2 in the immediate area, one was my 110cm dish report at the weekend and the other is a transparent dish which I'm not sure has been checked for alignment. It doesn't give me any idea if the signal drop off is more acute with UK spotbeam...

Advice Needed Bad weather signal drop

Some advice. I'm in Southern France 15kms from the Med nr St.Tropez and I'm trying to establish what size dish to recommend to expats in this area so they can restore their Freesat TV. It's clear that 80cm dishes are now too small for Freesat channels but I have a 90cm dish with an MTI LNB...

    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

No Problem I'm in the Maures hills which are about 15Kms from the Bay of St.Tropez. Out of interest I had no BBC 1 London last night, skies were clearing, but I could get BBC 1 Scotland and other regions no problem. No BBC HD. Today it's sunny and clear and I have BBC 1 & 2 HD variants Ch.5 Ch.4...

    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

Clearer skies today and now I have all channels OK on 90cm dish MTI LNB, be interested to see if some pixelate this evening as I'm getting more a sense that a 1.2m is going to be the optimum in this area (Var). Difficult to compare days as it's been so overcast the last week.

    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

It's interesting. The postcode 32460 is about the same latitude but much further west, I've had some reports of 1.20m dishes with no BBC and my 110m is only giving me a very weak signal - unwatcheable really with nothing at night, it might be my LNB which is helping that last yard. I'm 82680

Where exactly are you? I'm about 15Kms from the bay of St.Tropez and have 110cm which is only just able to give me a pixelated picture and I'm wondering what I need to increase it to so I can guarantee a good pic in all but the worst conditions - which is what we've just had a week of on top of...
