I used to be a Lightspeed customer - a very unhappy one! :)
They sucked big time. I canceled my service on the 14th day.
Luckily they hadn't introduced the mandatory 12th month contract back when I was a customer.
Their 2Mbps costs 65 Dinars a month, it'll tie you to a 12 month contract, and...
Hey Matt,
I didn't go forward with my project because I discovered that Batelco doesn't offer unlimited downloads - plus Bahrain is pretty broadband impoverished and it's so damn expensive!!
I was going to subscribe to the fastest connection in the country - a 2Mbps which has a monthly...
Nah it'll be a setup for passengers in the back seats to watch live TV.
We have no terrestrial programming in this country apart from state run propaganda. It's very 3rd world! Satellite reception does the trick!
Fuel is 'cheap as chips' on my end.
I've fired an email off to the company representing SelfSat in the UK for a quote so I'll share the figure with everyone once it comes in.
Hey all,
Hope I'm posting this in the right section.
I'd love to be able to get satellite TV in my Hummer H2 and I recently stumbled across a vehicular satellite antenna made by a company called Self Sat. There's a pic of what the antenna looks like here:

Thanks for the replies.
It came with no installation notes - except for the logo on the thing that has a pic of a receiver on one end, and a sat dish on the other.
I wanted to see if it would boost my satellite reception of W3A @ 7'E which I've pulled in from Bahrain. My cable run is VERY...
Hey All,
Just purchased a 17dB Fracarro in-line Low Noise Amplifier. Where do I install this on my home setup? Does it go directly after the LNB? or immediately before my receiver?
I'm guessing the latter is wrong as you'd be amplifying the noise picked up throughout the length of your RG6...
Woohoo! This is exciting news!
The SlingCatcher has gone on pre-sale in the USA.
Can't wait to get my hands on this product!

No info on the SlingMedia's UK website though...
I use the same DVB-S card as you, and looking at your screenshots, I think your running on older drivers.
The latest driver version for the skystar is version 4.4.3
Have a look at what's available here:

Channels 'blocked'
By BEGENA P PRADEEP
BAHRAIN'S Indian community is up-in-arms over satellite channels from home allegedly being blocked by Internet signals, broadcast on the same frequency.
Hundreds of customers are cancelling Indian satellite subscriptions for at least 12 channels...
Hey all,
I just got my SkyStar USB 2 recently, running XP SP3, with the latest 4.4.3 driver installed.
Can't get ProgDVB to work either, but not too worried as I'm using my setup for one-way satellite broadband.
The Slingbox itself simply pushes whatever is connected to it onto the internet. On the receiving end, you'll need a computer or laptop with software installed called the SlingPlayer to watch the content from the Slingbox over the internet.
Most people will happily watch stuff on their computer...
Hey buddy,
I think the one-stop-shop for you would be this website
_http://www.Dishpointer.com/
It also lists all the satellites that have footprints in the UAE and what size dish they recommend although the recommended sizes are very rough (still beta).
Ace website tho!
So intended market is:
a. those who live in listed properties
b. people that loath the sight of a satellite dish (not us)
c. difficult installation areas where a dish wont do
