    Multivision on Low Power?

Thanks guys - that is a bit odd. If I surf through adjacent transponders either side even the weakest channels are 80% or so, until I hit the Multivision block. I'll do a bit of poking around and see if I can find anything strange in the setup.

    Multivision on Low Power?

Has anybody else noticed the Multivision channels on Hotbird have been broadcasting on low power recently? The signal strength and signal quality meters on my receiver are barely at 20%, but all other Hotbird channels are fine.

    Sky+ Unusual Problem (Won't Boot)

Actually the disk was spinning up, I could hear it, but I figured the disk must be the problem so ordered a replacement. Before it arrived, the damn box fixed itself, I did nothing, just left it turned on (in standby). I just noticed that the red LED had come back on and it's worked perfectly...

    Sky+ Unusual Problem (Won't Boot)

I've an original Sky+ box. At about 4am this morning while watching Sky News I suddenly got a black screen. The box looked dead, not even a red LED on the front, but it was generating some sort of video signal (black). I unplugged, waited a while then plugged it back in. The red LED comes on...

    2006 Superbowl Feed?

Has anyone found a feed for tonight's Superbowl? I don't fancy being interrupted by the clowns on Sky and ITV every five minutes! ;)

    Parental Control Plays Farces

I don't think that's true. Since the latest update (which is evident from the new menu background), requests for a PIN have been popping up all over the place on both my Sky+ boxes, and always when manually recording. The darn thing keeps asking for a PIN when I play back the cycling from...

Three Cards into Two CAMs Won't Go...

Thanks, but an embedded CAM is something I don't have. Somebody should build a gizmo to allow multiple cards to work with one CAM, I've got four official viewing cards and it's driving me mad swapping them in and out! Maybe it would be easier just to kick the channel surfing habit. ;)

Three Cards into Two CAMs Won't Go...

Folks - what's the best solution to the problem of having three (or more) official smartcards, but only two CAMs (or two CAM slots)? Does everyone just keep swapping cards in and out, or is there some magic device that can split CAM sockets for more than two CAMs, or split card slots maybe...

    Two CAMs? Dragon and...?

Many thanks for the info, obviously a second CAM akin to the Dragon wouldn't be of much use other than for UPC on 19.2°E, and I'm not sure if there's anything in that line-up of huge interest, plus I don't know anything about the Pentacard, other than it being fairly expensive! I'm guessing it's...

    Two CAMs? Dragon and...?

Folks - I've already got a Dragon CAM and was wondering whether it would serve any purpose to add another similar CAM to the same receiver? Matrix, Reality or one of those, in case it could open the channels the Dragon cannot, a double-whammy of sorts. The Canal+ family would be good, and...

Problem patching Reality CAM using laptop PCMCIA

If it helps at all, I had a PVR-5020 with a Dragon CAM and it would only open half the channels it should (most of the TPS family and Multivision would fail). The same CAM with the same software would work fine in a Finepass receiver, and has since worked pefectly in the Humax I replaced the...

    Correct LNB Skew Value

It was much easier than I expected, helped by having a receiver with twin tuners. All I did was position each LNB individually using a meter and the receiver to fine-tune the signal quality, then I used two 4:1 DiSEqC switches, one on each tuner. When storing satellite information, I specified...

    cant find anythnk help

You can move the dish around, but the spot in which the signal locks in can be very small and some digital receivers won't lock instantly so it's easy to go straight past a satellite without even knowing it. If you point the dish using a compass and inclinometer, you should be in the ballpark...

    cant find anythnk help

Two things you need to point the dish in the right direction - a compass and an inclinometer, not only does your dish need to be facing the right way, it has to be at the right elevation angle (the amount of tilt up/down). The margin of error is small, especially with digital satellite. Point a...

    Correct LNB Skew Value

The dish is designed for a 40° arc, just-in-case you were thinking I'd got lots of LNBs crammed together... ;) Lots of reasons - the total price was probably a bit more than a motorised dish, but here are some of them: 1) No motor noise 2) The dish is in a really windy spot and it kept...
