Just finaly got round to spending some time on this, it was definatly caused by a faulty DiSEqC switch. I did some process of elimination and bizarely if i covered the C -Band LNB the signal dropped, if i covered the KA this also happened. (The C is port 2 and the KA port 3 on my switch) Out...

Just done this.. I have no idea how but you are right! If I disconnect the c band LNB the signal goes, weirder still if I reconnect it and then disconnect the KA on the other side it also goes? It must be some kind of signal cross on the switch but I still don't understand how placing a hand...

I have the KA LNB on a offset bracket at the west of my dish (viewing away from the dish) with approx 5 degree spacing, pointing at 8E to get this signal which would suggest around 13E?, I can also pickup a data transponder at 4E which seems to be the KA sat at 9E so I think the offset is around...
