Nine channels gone, Great! channels leave Freesat....is this platform being phased out? I guess this is common knowledge by now

Just moving with the times, I think. Not a bad idea for lots of dross to go forth, though.

The television channels are still there, even though they appear to show the same programming on a continual loop, it's just the full EPG, that's vanished, now only showing now, and next, on other satellite receivers.

TM5402 has full 7 day epg still on the Great! TV channels.

I haven't checked, for a couple of days, but last time I did, even Talking Pictures EPG wasn't updating.
Are you using a different EPG option manic?
Then again I am running OpenBh, and don't bother with UK television, that much, so haven't imported any other EPG.
I'll check again, in the next few days, and report back.

They have gone from Freesat hardware - looks like a slow death of Freesat and satellite tv in general. Not surprising in the days of growing IPTV and all the controls that it brings

I would suggest the inbuilt apps on modern televisions (along with convenient remote control buttons) means many users don't bother checking other listings.

If you have ever tried to access satellite channels from an LG TV, it's almost as though the manufacturer wants to stop fitting tuners.

Yes, I have an LG TV with Freesat and a Foxsat HDR with all Raydon's tweaks added (bought it wayy back when they first appeared)
I live in Ireland so the gradual move to streaming will not be good

And still I can receive them fine on satellite, with EPG and all. For instanced Great! movies is howing the Nanny's killer scandal. So even if no longer on freesat, they can still be received. They seem to have disappeared not only from the freesat epg but also the sky epg.

Of course that could mean that they will really disappear from satellite soon.

Yes, you can still see them on that satellite with any generic FTA receiver, but not with a Freesat receiver

I thought all Freesat receivers had a non-Freesat mode?

They seem to have disappeared not only from the freesat epg but also the sky epg.
They are still listed and working on my Sky+ HD boxes.

Sky HD uses a different epg that emcompasses the FreeSat channel listings.

With Freesat? No
Yes
Preparing To Add New Channels
The following steps will show you how to prepare new channels manually:

Select the menu and then option 2 ‘Settings’.
Then click on ‘Show Non-Freesat Services’ and press OK to ‘open’ the new TV channel options. Select the downwards key to any TV channel you’d like to add and press OK again.
Confirm the TV channel.
Then, a sub-menu should appear on your screen with the confirmation to select the channels. Pressing yes will ensure that the next following steps will be carried out successfully.

Adding Channels
To add channels to your list, open the ‘add non-Freesat services’. Then, you’ll be shown the following options:

Frequency
Symbol rate
LNB polarization
After this, you’ll be required to enter the codes in the symbol rate box. Then a drop box selection of your programmes will appear.

If this doesn’t occur, then please double-check you entered the right LNB polarization code. If you haven’t entered the right code, we suggest pressing the right arrow to add the channels you wish to have on your list.

Finally, wait a few seconds and repeat the process to add more channels. Press exit and enjoy your new TV guide!

If you’ve accidentally added a channel that you wish to delete, simply go to the channels and press right. This will prompt you to enter the ‘delete code’.

yes, in non-Freesat mode, but then no 7 day epg, and for a recorder no scheduling recording....basically it becomes a generic FTA receiver in that mode
