Advice Needed Cool Countries During Summer

I am planning to take a long holiday break next year from July till November and live in a cool country.
It is too hot and humid here and living with an air conditioner on all the time is just not normal.
I suppose Scandinavian countries would be cool enough during this period, but the standard of living there is probably too high and I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions how to make my stay as cheap as possible. Some numbers about how much things cost would be helpful
Would enrolling in a language learning school gives me any benefits as a student, for example finding accommodation and public transport?
Thanks and take care.

UK doesn't have summers. And you already speak the language.

@Captain Jack

Oh come now, of course we do.

I had to discard my winter T Shirt many weeks ago in favour of an "fully exposed honed torso" look.

I take it that look was printed on your summer T shirt....

In relation to the question, I'd suggest Northern France. Can tend to be a tad damp in the summer though...

Australia can be pretty cool during northern hemisphere summers, due to it being their winter of course, it's just the getting in to the country that could be a problem as they have tight borders...:D

Kudos for you working out that living with - man made - air conditioning is disaster waiting to happen for all of us.

A cool country that isn't expensive to survive for five months is all dependent on your requirements and how much you wish to socialise. Choose between latitude and altitude though as they have very different outcomes on how your body will cope with the changes.

North of the planet, one could exist/survive on a pittance in Iceland if you are prepeared to live in a tent, catch and eat your own fish, same with Alaska, Canada , Greenland or Russia.

Going south you have the very bottom bit of Africa, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, the Falklands and a whole host of smaller islands dotted off Antarctica.

Unless you brew your own alcohol , it will make a big dent in your budget.

A suggestion is,North Germany(Meck-Pomm as it s poetically called),
lots of youth hostels and camping grounds available
& if that s too pricey, try nearby Poland, again, campings and youth hostels...
plenty of space along its North coast and no visa hassles,
which is the obtstacle to staying in Russia(which otherwise would be both cheaper ,larger, and cooler)

Russia in the summer is generally very warm, unless you're north of Moscow latitude. It's a typical continental client there... and there are no bears roaming the streets either o_O

Tel Aviv is quite hot during the summer, but not as hot as other places. The trouble is that being near the Mediterranean sea, the humidity level is very high which makes it unbearable.
I also thought of spending those four months or so next year in Northern Israel. Gives me the chance to come home once a fortnight and see if the apartment is still there.
Sorry to hear there are no bears in the streets of Moscow. Our camels have been diverted to the southern part of the country and they cause quite few car accidents every year when they cross the roads at night. We have only Zebra crossings, no camels crossings yet.

At the moment, Sweden is high on my list. I like the Swedish language and am considering to take a course to learn the language at a summer study course which gives me the chance to get cheap accommodation perhaps as a student and socialize with people from different countries.

Stay away from Sweden in November. It is so dark, cold and lifeless. There's nothing to do but waiting for the December snow to brighten up the place.
The Baltics might be a little cheaper.
I don't know what options you have as a student, I have to investigate. I don't know your age, I am assuming you're not under 18 and eligible as an exchange student living with a host family.
There might be empty dorms when the other students are off in the month of July.
How about caravaning through Europe?
Or boating? There is an abundance of 70s sailing boats that are cheap and sometimes free. I guess todays generation are too busy to maintain and store them during the winter.

Edit: Here you go:

1 USD ~ 8.50 SEK

Thanks for the advice. I don't intend to stay longer than end of September. I am too old for any of the other options mentioned and all I need is a room with a kitchen and bathroom. I checked summer school study at two universities to learn Swedish language, but the courses are too expensive and I can learn the language myself, as I have a basic knowledge already and this the reason why Sweden is high on my list..
I have tried blocket.se before and it will be useful when the time comes. Thanks for giving the link.

It all depends on what floats your boat.
If it's culture and music etc, the I suggest London/Britain (yes!)
Scandinavia is not bad, but it's very - uh - Scandinavian.
This summer we just had 3-4 days of proper summer (25 degrees and sunshine).
When it's good, and you're our with friends, it can be absolutely brilliant. Think sailing a small sailbout around a coastline dotted with thousands of little islands, swimming from the boat, grilling on rocky outcrops etc (Sweden). Or walking is cracking nature-parks, with friendly people and walk-in huts dotted around the trip (Norway).
But when it's mixed rain/sun, and hovering around 17 degrees C, it can also be rather bland. And boring.

Me, I'd go to Canada. Stunning nature. Big Sky. And yet still Wineries, Great Food, and friendly people. Even hugely multicultural metropolises...
And still affordable compared to Europe and some part of the US...

I second that, Canada is a really good idea, great people, and a great country, plus they have Tim Hortons which is a plus in my book.

Norway. Summer was stolen this year, left with a long autumn.
