I visited the AV Comm site the other night and they stock what looks like the XMW single feed, and state it is designed for a prime focus reflector...so, not wanting to pay over a grand for the Elite version, I set about making my own feed. New legs, an old universal prime focus feed I have had for ages, and 40mm clamp off a Lenson dish. Very pleased with the result, heavy cloud here and ITN Newsnet and a feed are belting in... Good signals there:-)

Over a thousand for an lnb Feedhorn, making it yourself is a plus.

And if you are like me, then it makes it personal.

scopus,

Is the feed an XMW FD9000 Ka feed simply clamped into the 40mm collar then secured to the universal PF feed holder?

I have clamped my FD9000 in a universal prime focus feed holder and it looks a good way to save on a bag of sand (grand) for a prime focus Ka feed. I will give this a test on a spare dish if I get the time (pic attached).

Rgds

Peaking at 13.1dB here on the Precision. 14.2db on the 1.8 CM. so really only a dB difference. Just think if I still had the 1.8 Precision. No doubt about it, real quality gear......
