ThickThink steel? Is that an unwanted autocorrect? I can't even work out what it's supposed to say!

..... the picture above illustrates perfectly why it's a good idea to fit an added steel bottom strengthening plate if you are going to use these excellent motors on larger dishes especially in exposed areas where high winds are possible....... there's still the possibility of stripping the cogs though with large reflectors and strong gusts. Unfortunately, been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
My two 1224's in service at the moment are only turning a CM1.2 and a 1.2 Gibertini which gives me peace of mind.
Picture shows what can happen, and did happen, to my upgraded 1224 (Jumbo) motor with a 2.2 Precision PF on it .... Mother nature can be a strong enemy when she wants to be.
but might modify it for a 1.8
I recall the mounting shaft was cast alloy
Well kick the cat off it and post some pictures.I've got one of those in the next room. Will pull the manual tomorrow.
I recall the mounting shaft was cast alloy rather than mild steel and ubolts, which was a backward step.

Can you tell what it is yet?nice machine for making new 1224 base
