Would someone be willing to create a footprint map of 2E spot, based on all the reports that have come in?

Appologies for going slighly off topic here but I was thinking about investing in a Inverto Black Ultra to see if it had any advantage over my existing Invacom. Any thoughts - anyone?

It didn't help for me. Goobay quad performed better.

''many cold-spots''. But why is that. Down here in Malta we can receive Italy's Terrestrial Rai Broadcast, Mediaset's and a lot more from small Italian stations although these stations are not intended for us and more than 100km's away. Surely it is a problem of putting more repeaters at strategic points! Anyway Tivu as I said my opinion only.
Is there any reports of 2E reception in Malta, if so what sized dishes? I guess it's way too far south and east of the footprint.

Here's the animated sequence from the South of France. All happened quickly.
If that was fast, it took 15 minutes the other night gave them time to make a sandwich.:-lmao
Si que fue rapido, 15 minutos tardaron, la otra noche les dio tiempo a tomar un bocata.:-rofl2

Hi BCW

[slightly off topic] What software do you use to monitor the signals? Especially this one, you posted some days ago...

Thanks!

Someone has sent in a report saying very weak reception of BBC 2HD on a 3 metre in Gibraltar. BBC returned in Gran Canaria, no dish size given. See skyinmadrid.com for latest.
Thanks for the info Snap and well done for a very interesting blog

Hi BCW

[slightly off topic] What software do you use to monitor the signals? Especially this one, you posted some days ago...

Thanks!

It's a home grown Windows C# program which is based on CrazyCats's StreamReader dll. It logs the CNR,RF and BER values of a number of transponders once every minute, and runs an RF spectrum once every 10 minutes. The migration picture is a screen dump of the RF values.
The program also captures precipitation radar images from the internet to check how rain impacts the CNR. I've been logging on a TBS 5922 since early December. Here's an example of an overview up to yesterday for a few transponders - it shows both short-term and medium term variations.
I started to log to get a better handle on how the signal varies over time, what the effect of weather is, how different dishes and LNBs compare, to take some of the guesswork out of choosing the right dish.

Be happy to discuss further - perhaps on a different thread?
Ben

Improved a little time and I notice that the satellites are not in the same point last night for tp 2E, modified 0.4 length, did not see it having very low signal, especially in HD channels, which block the deco, but now I see.
Liken this afternoon at 17:00 (GMT) best signal with the 2D and 2E worse.
Sorry for the translation.

Madrid North (40.5458°N, 3.612°W) near Ikea.
98x90cm (94cm) dish, DB800S-HD, simple style/sencillo.

Some pictures to document/Unas fotos para documentar.

Certainly no objection from me, if you're willing to give more details of this project! :)

Slightly OT, but SES have now updated their web site for Astra 1N.

It now reads "Expected Orbital Location 19.2E", "Coverage Europe" and the only footprint shown is a pan-European one.

The two datacarriers on 11464 / 11479 are gone.

But there is a new one on 11494H which is very weak here, so I cannot get a SNR. Is it on UK Spot beam ?

What is the SR and FEC of this? Presumably 16APSK?

Same here, a peak around 11494H but too weak to lock.
Maybe some exotic beam is involved? Could be interesting this one!
