Best dish to buy on a budget.

I just been looking in our local classifieds. There is one nice 90 plastic dish for sale with 4 LNBs and wall mount. Price is 15 EUR. I have several such dishes in different sizes and like them a lot.

technomate dish looks like a badged inverto or the "triax copy" style that seems to be flooding the market nowadays. i realise you are on a budget @Tony1A so id go with the orbital as they are well made for the price,easy to install/assemble and have good gain but if you can save a bit longer and go for the gibby you wont be disappointed

The technomate dish has a good rigid dish face mount and rigid LNB arm like triax but with a useable elevation adjustment.

If I was stuck financially I would buy a technomate but if saving up I'd prefer stretching to the Gibertini over the Orbital due to its strength and longer service life. Unless you really can get the Orbital for a similar price to the technomate, a bit unlikely.

In that case the Technomate would give about 85% more gain and the Orbital and Gibertini would give about 95% more gain than the Triax TD78.

So whatever you do it will be a big improvement.

Price-wise - I just sold my 90cm Precision dish for a measly £10 on eBay. Needed it gone so couldn't haggle much. The same goes for the 1.2m Precision.

Bargains are there if you're patient enough...

If it's made of poured concrete and rebar he could get a 1.5m on top of it easily.

I may have to postpone getting a bigger dish for the moment. I wrote to the council to ask if I needed planning permission to build a brick version of my current wooden shed where the dish is attached to. GOOD NEWS....it turns out that I don't need permission...that means I would have a stronger building to fit my dish to. Mind you, this all depends as to how much it would cost to have it built

Its easy enough to budget for a dish as it would be a tiny part of the cost of the shed.

Since it will take a while, you might have luck on ebay, there has been quite a few 1.2m for sale for £15 - £20 in the Toon and around.

They are decent dishes - cannot see anything wrong with them. Just be aware that they are actually 90cm, not 1m as advertised here
