Are there any frequencies that you cannot get from W4/W7 Russia Beam Telia ?

I can get all transponders from the Russian beam, i tried all from Flysat list and i get lock on all, they are very strong here.

That's what i have expected. There are some frequencies on both beams though: 11785H/R, 12073L/V, 12245R/H, 12437R/H. It will be difficult, probably impossible to get both of these on any size of dish. But as you say, Russia is very strong on your 1.20m so at least you've got full reception on those.

Of course i get also Russian Beam, it would be interesting if you in the UK can get the Russian beam as you are way out of it's footprint.

i,v given this a try -- but there is nothing from that beam here for me

just some of the --Sub-Saharan beam. transponders -- and one of the africa beam t.p,s

but --i,v looked tonight on lyngsat and they list it as sub sahara beam ?

do you know which is correct?

are the multichoice channels,on sub sahara beam, exacty the same, then on the normal eutelsat w7?
i think on my location sub sahara is a imposilbe mission!
the signal strenth, with 2,20m is around the clock 24/7 day nearly the same,i dont recogneized much diffrence, you only see with smaler dishes!
on my gregory 1.25 i got on daytime around 5 of 10 multichoice transponder,in the night time, all disapeard with this smaler dish size!

You need that 9 meter antenna you wanted to buy, now it's a good time for you to upgrade.

Hello nelson_b,

thank you for your reply!

Of course LyngSat is right, 11919 V is Sub Sahara (Africa) beam from Eutelsat W7. Complete MultiChoice Africa is there

Only on Eutelsat W4 is Africa beam and Nigeria beam. I can´t get anything from Eutelsat W4 with 220cm.

Best Regards
qwer.

Thank you for reply, could you tell me how many transponders you may lock from Multichoice Africa package on W7?
Also do you have professional LNB?
Thanks for support.

Hello waker,

SSA Beam from Eutelsat W7 @36,0°E:

(best) quality in % with Openbox X-810 (time) and Inverto Twin Flange LNB, KATHREIN CAS 23 220cm PFA, Skewcontrol.

11716 V 37% (09.00) - not 24h
11731 V (DVB-S2 8PSK) (17.00) 55% with Clarke Tech HD 5000 Comba Plus - not 24h
11746 H 40% (15.45)
11786 H 14% (14.00) - 4h possible to lock
11823 H 22% (13.30) - not 24h
11861 H 23% (14.15) - not 24h
11881 V 30% (13.30)
11900 H 33% (13.30) - not 24h
11919 V 27% (12.30)
11938 H 23% (13.30) - not 24h
11957 V 33% (13.30)
11976 H 36% (13.30)
11996 V 47% (13.30)
12015 H 61% (15.45)
12034 V 61% (15.30)
12053 H 58% (15.30)
12072 V 52% (09.30)
12245 H 57% (09.30)

For FEC 3/4 in DVB-S and stable picture you need >18% on Openbox X-810. For FEC 3/5 in DVB-S2 8PSK you need >50% on Clarke Tech HD 5000 Combo Plus.

Thanks a lot for your reply.Do you know does the type(offest or prime focus) of dish make affect to level of the signal? I have chance to buy Prodelin 2.4, but it's offset dish

Hello waker,

it´s very hard to say, but for myself I would prefer PFA.

I think that Prodelin antenna is build in four pieces. In my opinion not as good in KU-band like one piece antenna (my KATHREIN 220cm).

BUT: Dear waker, I guess in region of Caucasus, it´s even hard with much bigger dishes to get SSA beam from ES W7 @36.0°E! Cirkular TP from Russian beam should "destroy" all theoreticly signals from SSA beam.

Here in western of Germany russian beam is very far away and I can get signal from SSA beam.

Best Regards
qwer.
