Is this common issue with these dishes? That was the last one they had I wonder how long I'd have to wait for a replacement

My apologies - I missed the misaligned holes. Thats not good, and its absolutely nothing you have done.

Somewhere there someone with the same problems with their backplate as they have yours!

Was hoping to get it up and running sometime this week. Managed to get hold of the overpriced heavy duty bracket and pole from SSS for free from a neighbour who no longer wants to use it. Also changed the location of where the VU+ Solo is going and it'll need 7.5 - 10 Meter cable from dish to receiver. Would it be better to get pre made cable sealed? I might as well get the best quality cable available can't cost much for a few meters.

You can make your own cables up easily enough - use a sharp knife (something like a Stanley knife & mind your fingers!

Do a couple of practises before you start

and waterproof the joins. Self amalgam tape is recommended but if the lnb has a rain cover I never bother and just pull the cover down. In fact I tend to buy lnbs with rain covers now as its much simpler.

I have a somewhat cavalier attitude to waterproofing cables and accept if a seal goes the cable will need to be replaced - and one one occasion I found a cable totally full of water - when I cut through it to remove it an impressive amount of water poured out :-rofl2

I've got the right fitting pack now the one they gave me initially was for a Maxx Digital 110 cm dish. Also got some Webro WF 100 cables.

The holes on the back plate doesn't match with the holes on the dish.

those maxx digital copy dishes are shocking!! i had the misfortune of putting one together for a pub and it was a great struggle getting the parts to fit together as as stated the holes are mismatched but you get what you pay for in this game like anything else.. also using a TM5402HD the maxx digital 110 was no better than td88 performance wise using a gree eco lnb.

I've found 17 meters of CT125 cable and F plugs would it make any difference for 7.5 meter run from motor to receiver?

7.5M isn't that long a cable run and you shouldn't notice any difference between CT 100 and CT 125, but CT 125 is thicker and more difficult to fix up.

you dont need CT 125 for such a short run good quality RG6 will be fine but WF/TX100 would be better. if you already have the CT125 then perhaps a short run of RG6/WF/TX100 and a barrel connecter would help if you dont have F cons that fit the CT125

Ok, I’ve arranged a professional installer to do the installation on the 21st of this month. While I wait I was wondering if it would be possible to add a C band LNB to the set up. I’m aware I won’t get much out of it but if I was to go down that route just to play around with it what would I need?

I'm picking up satellites from 45E to 77W I was wondering if I'd get more if u was to upgrade to a channel master 1.2 or 1.8 and would be possible to install a 1.8 in this location like this.

There's very little in Ku beyond 45W... some encrypted chans on 61.5W. What are you getting on 77W?? And what are you missing to want a larger dish?

Tidy install by the way. I like the spider leg brackets.

Surely 77W is way down low on the horizon?

I've never got beyond 58W.

Well, the chances of getting anything from 77W are less than zero. All footprints are pointing towards the Americas.
