You need to buy a digibox and subs for those channels via satellite.

As posted in #15, can you take a close up shot of the LNB and post it. You may have one of those where zero is not centred, also mentioned in post #9.

God how do you post a photo, I have no idea at all. I used to think I was quite intelligent until I bought computer, now a satellite has turned me into a jibbering idiot.

Also, it really depends upon how you interpreted "minus" ............... The LNB should be rotated clockwise if looking from LNB towards dish, meaning the cable outlet will move from 6 o'clock towards seven or eight o'clock.

In practice, it should be tweaked for best results rather than blindly following a theoretical value (which depends upon your dish not being off-centre etc.)

However, satelliteman and I are trying to establish the specific LNB you have as there are a couple which can and do mislead the unwary.

Click on the Go Advanced option, bottom right, when posting and click the paperclip symbol.
Also take a look at the link below, all the FTA channels are marked with a red F, as you can see there are quite a few of them.

I hope this work, if it does, I hope these help.

WE were all beginners at the game once Whalley77 :)

You have done the difficult bit - getting any signal. Some folk struggle for weeks before they get that far

When you look back, it won't look so clever ............... but you can pretend it is!

Anyway, the LNB looks "normal" and you appear to have skewed it the right way.

I suggest you check the Transponder for Five (One of the earlier Posts gives the details) is present - if not, add it. Scan that and see what occurs.

That's easy for you to say, how exactly?

Have a look at the stored Transponder list.

And if you need to add it, Read The Manual or just apply similar logic to how you'd find an unaccustomed feature on you PC: Fiddle with the Menus!!

Ok. I'm going to lie down in a dark room and try to put this all together. Thanks a lot fellas, I will be back, of that you can be sure.

Once again thanks for helping, I hope it will be worth the effort.

Is that what you mean? If so you are scaning the wrong frequencies. You should be scaning Astra 2.

Yes, that was ambiguous, but I read it as "the Astra one", not "Astra 1" !!

But you could well be right.

Shouldn't matter if he really did find a Blind/Auto scan function, but let's doubt everything until the job's a good un :)

Well spotted if that's the case.

It says on screen Astra 28.2°E and Eurobird 1. so I am hoping that that is the right one. I think That I have been expecting to much for my money. I will try checking the transponder list and take it from there, I just assumed that as it was on freeview, it would be on satellite.

Astra & Eurobird 1 is indeed correct.

All Freeview channels *are* on satellite - its just that some of them are pay channels on satellite! :D

Theres no sense to it - its just one of those things you have to accept and live with.

Well after a couple of hours, i eventually found, downloaded all the channels I think we would possibly watch, I started to make a few favorites lists. That when the problem started afte putting about 10 channels in the list I added Sky news in just the same manner and the whole thing locked up. It makes noo difference what buttons I press the bloody thing just switches itself off and restarts back on Sky news. If itry to switch it off useing the remote, it just switches back on. The only way to stop the thing is to unplug it. I tried to re-booting it after 30 minuets , but it was still the same. If I had any hair I would be pulling it out now.

Sorry for all the typing errors, I must try harder, as it would seem there is no edit facility on this forum.

Oh dear!

Could be a faulty unit, or it may just need a Factory Reset.

You should be able to find a Menu option to allow you to revert to "out of the box" condition.

And setting it up from scratch would probably be fairly effective and not too onerous given your rapidly improving abilities!
