Ok thank for the info, I think an edit function will be needed.

So back to the story, I had my lunch and attacked with renewed vigour and "Voila" it's back up and running, I don't know why!! but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. I now have a set of favorites stored for both TV & Radio. I just hope they stay there.

So Once again many thanks to all who have helped me over this stressfull period of my life and I will look in on the forum on a regular basis.

Good news.

So, once you've got used to it, the next thing is to wonder "what else is out there" and then get yourself receiving other Satellites like Hotbird, Astra 1 and many more - does your wife have a penchant for Italian, German, French etc?

If so, you could turn her lingering disapproval into something rewarding ..............

st a quick update on the Labgear HDSR300 lock out problem, if anyone is interested?

I have had an e: mail from the importers of this kit to say that there is a software problem and the Chinese manufacturer is working on the problem and should soon have a software update available.

They didn't give any idea of when, I suppose? Or whether it would be sent out over the air (OTA) or available as a download?

No sorry, no further info on that, I am hoping it will be over the air, that sounds easier to someone like me who knows diddly abuot sat systems.

When I open the attachment all I get is a message saying that there is no programme associated with this file.

So now what?

You need someone who really knows but I would guess you don't try to run it from your computer but upload it to the receiver somehow - a USB drive would be my preferred guess.

What does the manual say about updating the S/W?

Now the question is how do I load it on to a USB stick?

Copy and paste?

Try opening the email and click on the attachment. It should give you an option to run or download. Choose download and then change the location to the previously plugged in USB stick.
