After some proper rain today the signals are still coming in well, and more importantly, the signals return to normal quickly after the rain (rather then after I wipe the LNB dry). I think I'll leave the bottle cover on as it seems to be doing its job.

Thanks for this report. This will help me a lot :-)
I have a two dish setup with these LNBs on the smaller dish at 9e/13e/19e.
My larger dish is currently only at 28e with a black ultra.
I got a few more of these LNBs waiting to go on both dishes.
I seriously want to protect 28e from rain if these LNBs are sensitive.
Once I've installed these LNBs, I'll try the 'bottle' approach as well :-)

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the LNBs. Try them first without covers and see how they are. I found these LNBs where particularly troublesome when I used them on 1W and 5E on a 90cm dish and I'd often lose the channels I wanted most if they got wet (I now use Black Ultras on that dish and they can get as wet as they like). On the 60cm for 19E they are not quite so bad due to stronger signals. I think it also depends somewhat on the receiver too since mine are a little deaf.
