Annoyingly i never see these , but my folks who live on an estate get them visiting their feeders daily.

As an aside, I was getting quite a few bird window strikes, but started using these a few years back, has dramatically reduced them to almost nil. http://www.windowalert.com/leaf.html

A tree that I have driven past for years. Notice how it has gradually "consumed" the fence in front of it! You would think it would just bend out of the way.

A recent visit to the Edinburgh Botanical Gardens, I saw some really strange plants including this trailing plant whose name I have already forgotten, but it just looks man made

Have been watching a couple of goldfinches chasing each other around the foliage at the end of the garden for a couple of days now, but did not see them today and when I watered my strawberries in the greenhouse, I found out why..... I found one one in there petrified, trying to escape. I tried to usher it through the open door with no success so in the end I caught it and released it in the garden and it flew off with it's mate.

I was going to say 'it's after your strawberries' but I think they are mainly seed eaters; unless of course you have counted your strawberries!!

Well if it was it must have stomach ache as they are all still green, I need to trim the willow next to the greenhouse it is blocking all the sun now

I've spent all morning sorting through over 700 pics taken by SWMBO on our recent trip to the South of France.

Before going I bought her a Reference Guide to Butterflies of Western Europe and boy oh boy did it come in handy - despite my best efforts I cannot prune the sightings down further so stand-by to be bored!

And there are a few of other animals too.

First Batch

Second Batch

We did identify all of these Butterflies (And a great many more!), but I think we will need to reconfirm them for our own satisfaction, in slow time.

The last one is, however, the elusive Two Tailed Pasha, which we saw several of and failed to photograph satisfactorily until this one appeared in our Gite Courtyard on our last evening!

PS: I've duplicated three species above: There are two pics of the Two-Tailed Pasha, two of the Hungarian Glider and two of the Silver Washed Fritillary.
