I am connected to a huge Dish and have been happily watching Sky Freesat for years, but was unable to get Sky News and Pick Tv,but I was not worried about that could get BBC news Parliment etc. I returned to Playa del Ingles after a break in UK ,and switched the box back on and Now can get ONLY sky News and Pick TV ,reality, cbs drama .No BBc 1,2 ITV or 4 or Five Anyone have any idea of whats happened or what I should do to get the other channels back ?

Regards

Danny

Yes. Astra 2E has come into service.

There are innumerable Topics about Astra 2E, including a specific one for the Canaries

Might I suggest you have a browse through that to get an idea of what others in your general area are getting (and are not getting).

And you might find Analoguesat's 2E Reception Map of value

Hi,

In simple terms; Sky News/ Pick has moved back to 2A South beam which is easily received in the Canaries. All BBc/Itv has been shifted to the UK 2E spot beam.

Danny,

As others have said because of satellite and transponder moves the range of channels you will receive has changed.

I assume you are using a Sky box with FreesatfromSky card. The reception of 2E and 2F UK spot beams here is variable. At certain times of day you may receive 10053H (various ITVs), 10803 H (BBC1 on 958 and BBC2 on 970) and 10964 H (Channel 5 bouquet on EPG). Also, if you do have a FreesatfromSky card then you should be able to tune in Channel 4 on 12480 V which should work 24/7. If you have a Sky box and are unsure how to use the Add Channels feature (which you will need to add different ITVs and Channel 4) then just let us know.

If you are using a generic FTA box then it might be worth deleting all the channels and doing a new blind search to make sure you are looking at all the TPs you can receive. The signal is normally best in the morning around 8 am.

I have been speaking to a local satellite installer who told me he has had variable success "tweaking" big dishes originally installed in the 2D days. He has had very limited success with the 2.4m Channel Master offset dishes, but implied some other types have worked out better. It may be worth getting the comunidad president to get a professional in to assess the current installation and see what can be done. If you are allowed your own dish, then you might find the information at the following link to be of interest ... http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/...ormally-on-28-2-on-intelsat-907-27-5w.152899/

Thanks for your help all. I wll see what the other dish users here are going to do as the Dish supplies some bars downstairs. I was told to get a sky HD box, do you think this would make any difference. I am currenty using a pace, but believe as you have all pointed out that the problem lies with the dish. Anyhow thank you all again
Cheers

Danny
