I'll put a bit of duck tape over the pickaxe holes. You wont notice them unless you look closely :D

I have to admit, Analoguesat's post regarding the Vu+ Duo ensured I bought a Dreambox. I was going to wait for the Ultimo but its as dear as the Dreambox and probaly no better I am glad my impatiece got the better of me.

Depends what you want. From my list of receivers the old DB7020 blows everything else out of the water.

Ive got a Vu+ Duo which many folk love but for what I want (tinkering and looking for new channels) its pretty much useless as much of the signal chasing functionality is missing or restricted. (eg no autofec on DVB-S2)

I hate its software and hardly ever use it. Ive been tempted to take out outside and reprogramme it with the sharp end of a pickaxe and give it a decent burial in a deep hole more than once! :D

Dont get me wrong - if you have it set up and just want to watch some tv with it then its a great receiver, I just dont like the way some things have been implemented, and the bugs in the BH image Ive found.

Dunno about there being legit or phony but their cards look pricey.

Try our forum sponsors - the dealers who advertise here are all trustworthy.

"looks like my post is deleted"
well i typed some thing like this
__________________________________________________________________________________
Sponsors or Advertisers?!
There is a difference right?
Falcon SAT is one of your advertisers who sell this kind of stuff "hosted cards, etc"
However this dealer has bad reputation about selling used stuff as new(source=google)
Can you please give me direct links to dealers you would trust(you had dealt with them before)?

Thanks

Difficult to get as you need an Irish address & the Irish channels are transmitted on 2D

Very expensive if you have to use a middle man.

The rest of the channel output is more or less the same as the UK version.

math says £55 X 12 months = £660
as yearly subs. have a discount then we can say £ 500
Card hosters need money too £500 + £70 = £570
yes its logical estimations not so real !

and the £55 subs is full having all sort of channels even 3D ones ! (Source SKY website!)

So irish isn't included in SKY UK and that's mean we can disregard 2D because all of its sky Channel are tagged Irish i think !

If i am going to pay that much...
I would rather hook up a BUD and get full signals of ASTRA 2 then go get my self a good SKYBOX HD with A full subs. White Card !
Or get free sat as a good FTA service

Or sell my TV set and live without :-lmao

By the way freesat by sky is the same freesat as its own !
does this mean that freesat is encrypted thus needs a freesat DVB-box or a freesat by sky card into a skybox ?

"Freesat from Sky" is mainly FTA Channels - apart from a bit of Regionalisation of Public Sector Broadcasting Channels. A few of the Regions are not on 2D so are Encrypted and require a Card.

"Freesat" is a BBC/ITV joint venture which provided an EPG for FTA services only. No Card.

In both cases, most of the "good" stuff is on 2D (Same actual Channel, but just presented differently).

Thats using a uk address for the subscription. (Via family or friends). If you have to use a uk reseller as you dont have a suitable address available you need to at least double those prices to cover their profit margin.

Oh and if you want HD its an extra £10/month - and for the 3D you have to have the full Sport Movies & HD package so that makes it £65/month

And if you want ESPN its another £9.....

1) havent got the faintest idea, but you are looking at getting on for £1000k a year due to middle man profit.

2) yes we know what you are on about and we will not permit discussion of systems to defraud the UK's biggest pay tv provider on a uk based forum.

3) yes but probably not for much longer.

notice that i am one user
i didnt say that i am going to defraud your precious SKY UK
technically the EULA of Cas interface insists that you use it for good personal use or legal commercial use...
