...of all the projects I've ever attempted ..I think I'll be most deflated about this one if it doesn't yield results..
It is hard ..It is slow ..and damned difficult with nothing but a drill ..a hacksaw ..and some files.
Working 8mm thick ally is no picnic with crude tools ..but having got this far ..I will see it through to completion.
But of course ..there are NO guarantees..
So could all be wasted effort.
Anyway ..this is the project so far ..
Aluminium rims for my copper SL3 glasses..

I have managed to bag another LNB but this one has an '01' at the end, so I assume this is an older version of the '03', at least I hope so!

Do you have a photo ?

If it has 4 x F connectors ,,and a white label ..then it will work ..
But is much more difficult to use in linear mode ..
I ended up removing the feed horns entirely ..
Substituted my own ..
and used only one Ka lnb ..by placing the lnb at a 45 degree angle.

Not the one I'm thinking of ..
That one is an unknown quantity to me ..and will be interesting to see its internals ..and the feeds with the cap removed.
Photos of it disassembled are a must have imo..
but it will work I suspect ..
Can't give you any info other than that I'm afraid..

Was it a one off ..or did the vendor have more than one to sell ?
and importantly ..
what did you pay including shipping from the US

I'll wait and see what yours is like ..
A quick search revealed a few others ..but some were single output SWiM ..and the postage on them was excessive ..most wanting over £38

hi VS and Llew been doing a bit of experiment with this unit without any mod I found I got a stronger signal with a 22mm copper connector in front of the feed I had unire sat at 94% quality and newsnet at 74% quality,since then I have done a mod on the lnb as you have but took the square bit out which is the probes and centre earth and soldered two probes in place of it I am hoping it will give more gain,waiting for the rain to stop so don't know it it will work or not.

You ..may have some probs retrofitting probes as they are critical size wise ..
Width Length and Thickness to a lesser degree..
Please ..Prove me wrong ..

hi VS as an experiment its all trial and error if it does not work try something different,i did wonder on the other part of lnb which is unmodded if the cavity which is modded was put on the unmodded sideif it would help with gain just a thought.
