"I start off by getting a lock on a transponder like 10890V on Hispasat 30ºW (TP 64 on Satlink) which has a good strong signal and is easy to align the dish on. then move the dish a fraction to the left with the same elevation and keep hoping in and out of the motorhome to check the TV for signs of life.

I am back in Roses Spain and have managed to get the BBC working now, My problem is that I have a Satlink WS-6908 which is not DVB-S2 so nothing shows up from the Sat. Can anyone recommend a replacement meter like the WS-6908 and I will get one and pop my 6908 on ebay.

I can recommend the a SatLink WS-6933 I mentioned in a previous post. It's cheap (€65 on Amazon), easy to use and the battery lasts ages without needing recharging. I no longer bother with Hispasat but line things up with a compass (or Satellite Director app) and usually get a lock on Intelsat 907 in no time at all. The WS-6933 is obviously not for the pros but for a hobbyist or camper it's perfect.

hi ,living in tenerife ,have a 1.2 meter dish, black ultra lnb,have lost signal for a couple of months .
my mate in tenerife with 1.35 meter dish, black ultra lnb has a very strong signal.both of us using technomate 5402 boxes.

My 80cm dish in Helsinki is also quite uncomfortably close to the limit so it does go occasionally in rain, especially with the satellite being so low on the horizon, but not noticed any obvious change in signal levels here in the last few years.

hi ,just been around my mates.
the dish he is using is tecatel 1.35 metres.
box TM 5402
lnb black ultra
signal 97 percent
quality 75 percent.
he says he doesnt have any problems with the signal.

1.2 tecatel in fuerteventura with black ultra gives 71% quality on tm5402. No problem with signal (apart from equinox etc)

I also experience a lower signal reception,as others have noticed on this thread.
If it rains,reception gets borderline with glitches.

Here in eastern Austria i can receive the INTELSAT 27,5 programms with a wavefrontier t90 and tm 5402. The lnb is located on the R13,2 mark of the rail. This mean it´s similar to a 85 cm Offset dish. I´ve aligned the dish with a rover ST2+ meter. He says 75,5 db and C/N 7,2. No drop out in bad weather. The lnb is a single ibu.

No idea. When Intelsat 907 drops out of service, the BBC mux could disappear from this location and reappear on another satellite with a different footprint - and different encryption.

As there is sufficient backup at 28E to swap services over to another satellite should there be a catastrophic failure there is no real need to keep the reserve signals up & running now.

And with that in mind - with the ongoing major cuts to the BBC budgets Id be surprised if the 27.5W transmission contract is renewed when it expires.

The expected livetime from this satellite is reached now. A few weeks ago i´ve spoke to a assistant from intelsat. First he don´t wanna confirm that there are the bbc channels on this satellite. Then he says that nothing changes in the near future. On Satbeams is no launch on this satellite position till Q4 2017.

looks like i have had to re register as i haven`t been on here for a couple of years !

has anyone had any luck recieving intelsat 907 in Greece ? as i think it falls just short of the footprint ?

i have a gibertini 1.6m with an inverto black on free to move about if theres a chance to recieve ? also have a 2.4mtr i could move but keeping that on 28.2e if possible !
just wandered if anyone has had success ? thanks in advance....
